爾豈可為轉瞬即無之貨財勤勞乎、貨財速去、如空中飛鷹、似乎有翼、或作爾豈可注目於貨財乎貨財速歸無有似乎有翼如空中飛鷹

Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle.

对那些今世富有的人，你当吩咐他们不可高傲自大，也不可把盼望寄托在靠不住的财富上，而要寄托在神身上，神把万物丰丰富富地赐给我们享受。

原来世界上一切肉体的欲望、眼目的欲望、今生的骄傲，都不是出于父，而是出于世界的。

“你们不要为自己在地上积蓄财宝，地上有虫蛀，会锈蚀，也有盗贼钻进来偷窃；

现在来吧，你们这些富有的人哪！应当为那些将要临到你们的惨祸而痛哭、哀号！你们的财富腐烂了；你们的衣服被虫蛀了；

“虚空的虚空，”传道者说，“全都是虚空！”

我看到在日光之下有一件令人痛心的悲苦之事：财主所积存的财富导致了他的悲苦，那财富也在悲苦的事中消亡了；所以当他生儿子的时候，自己的手中却一无所有。

他们的父亲雅各对他们说：“你们使我丧失了儿子：约瑟不在了，西缅也不在了；你们又要把本雅明带走，这一切都是冲着我来的！”

人们往来行走，只是幻像；他们喧闹，也是虚空；他们积蓄，却不知道谁会收取。

弟兄们，我要说这一点：时候不多了！从此有妻子的，要像没有妻子的；哭泣的，要像没有哭泣的；快乐的，要像没有快乐的；买了东西的，要像没有什么的；利用世界的，要像没有充分利用世界的；因为这世界的形态正在消逝。

求你使我的心倾向你的法度，而不向着私利。求你使我转眼不看虚妄的事，使我在你的道路上存活。

“虚空的虚空，”传道者说，“虚空的虚空，全都是虚空！”

你们为什么把钱花在非食物的东西上呢？为什么把自己的辛苦所得花在不能使人饱足的东西上呢？你们要留心听我的话，要吃美物，让自己的心灵得享肥甘！
