“ You shall not displace your neighbor’s boundary marker, which the ancestors have set, in your inheritance which you will inherit in the land that the Lord your God is giving you to possess.

and do not oppress the widow or the orphan, the stranger or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another.’

‘ Cursed is one who displaces his neighbor’s boundary marker.’ And all the people shall say,‘ Amen.’

This is what the Lord says:“ Do justice and righteousness, and save one who has been robbed from the power of his oppressor. And do not mistreat or do violence to the stranger, the orphan, or the widow; and do not shed innocent blood in this place.

You would even cast lots for the orphans, And barter over your friend.

For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly practice justice between a person and his neighbor,

Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

People remove landmarks; They seize and devour flocks.They drive away the donkeys of orphans; They seize the widow’s ox as a pledge.

“ Then I will come near to you for judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, the adulterers, against those who swear falsely, those who oppress the wage earner in his wages or the widow or the orphan, and those who turn away the stranger from justice and do not fear Me,” says the Lord of armies.

They kill the widow and the stranger And murder the orphans.

If I have lifted up my hand against the orphan, Because I saw I had support in the gate,May my shoulder fall from its socket, And my arm be broken off at the elbow.For disaster from God is a terror to me, And because of His majesty I can do nothing.

Others snatch an orphan from the breast, And they seize it as a pledge against the poor.

You have sent widows away empty, And the strength of orphans has been crushed.
