You shall serve him, and cling to him.

He said to them,“ Take heed what you hear. With whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you, and more will be given to you who hear.

Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Stay away from a foolish man, for you won’t find knowledge on his lips.

that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;

If anyone teaches a different doctrine, and doesn’t consent to sound words, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness,he is conceited, knowing nothing, but obsessed with arguments, disputes, and word battles, from which come envy, strife, insulting, evil suspicions,constant friction of people of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. Withdraw yourself from such.

But refuse profane and old wives’ fables. Exercise yourself toward godliness.

“ I know your works, and your toil and perseverance, and that you can’t tolerate evil men, and have tested those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and found them false.

He answered them,“ Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written,‘ This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.But they worship me in vain, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’“ For you set aside the commandment of God, and hold tightly to the tradition of men— the washing of pitchers and cups, and you do many other such things.”He said to them,“ Full well do you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.For Moses said,‘ Honor your father and your mother;’ and,‘ He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’But you say,‘ If a man tells his father or his mother,“ Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban,”’” that is to say, given to God,“ then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother,making void the word of God by your tradition, which you have handed down. You do many things like this.”He called all the multitude to himself, and said to them,“ Hear me, all of you, and understand.

They will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him; for they don’t know the voice of strangers.”

For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as Christ’s apostles.And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light.It is no great thing therefore if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

Then they understood that he didn’t tell them to beware of the yeast of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

But false prophets also arose among the people, as false teachers will also be among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction.Many will follow their immoral ways, and as a result, the way of the truth will be maligned.
