Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord, and humility comes before honor.

Wisdom teaches you to have respect for the Lord. So don’t be proud if you want to be honored.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his instructions have good insight. His praise endures forever.

He said to mankind,“ The fear of the Lord— that is wisdom. And to turn from evil is understanding.”

And when he had come as a man,he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death— even to death on a cross.For this reason God highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name,so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow— in heaven and on earth and under the earth—and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Come, children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

To fear the LORD is to hate evil. I hate arrogant pride, evil conduct, and perverse speech.
