A king delights in a wise servant, but a shameful servant arouses his fury.

A king is pleased with a wise servant. But a servant who is full of shame stirs up the king’s anger.

A servant who deals wisely has the king’s favor, but his wrath falls on one who acts shamefully.

A king rejoices in wise servants but is angry with those who disgrace him.

A king favors a prudent servant, but his anger falls on a disgraceful one.

好清心者、因其嘉言、王與之友、

主曰、孰為忠智之家宰、主任之督其家人、依時予之糧乎、主至、見僕行是、其僕福矣、我誠語汝、主將任之以督其所有、倘斯僕意謂我主稽遲、遂扑僕婢、食飲且醉、乃於不意之日、不知之時、其主至、處以極刑、擬與不信者同科、僕知主意而不備、不順其意者、見扑必多、惟不知而作當扑之事者、見扑必少、蓋多予之、必多取之、多託之、必多索之、○

君長若聽誑言、臣僕則盡奸邪、

去王前之惡人、其位乃以義而立、

主曰、俞、善而忠之僕也、爾於寡者既忠、我將以多者任爾、可進於爾主之樂也、

夏時而斂者乃智子、穡時而寢者乃辱子、

用智之奴、必治貽羞之子、與其昆弟同分遺業、

迫其父、逐其母、乃貽羞招辱之子、

智慧之王簸散惡人、以輪碾之、

主曰、俞、善而忠之僕也、爾於寡者既忠、我將以多者任爾、可進於爾主之樂也、

邪曲之心、我必遠之、奸惡之事、我不識之兮、潛毀其鄰者、我必絕之、目高心傲者、我不容之兮、境內忠誠之民、我目顧之、令其與我偕居、行純全之道者、必服事我兮、行詐者不得居於我室、言誑者不得立於我前、境內惡人、我每晨必殄之、作慝之輩、必絕於耶和華之邑兮、

王升鞫位、瞠目而視、諸惡消散、
