Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes;For the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught.

Before your pots can feel the burning thorns, He shall take them away as with a whirlwind, As in His living and burning wrath.

Let their table become a snare before them, And their well-being a trap.Let their eyes be darkened, so that they do not see; And make their loins shake continually.Pour out Your indignation upon them, And let Your wrathful anger take hold of them.Let their dwelling place be desolate; Let no one live in their tents.For they persecute the ones You have struck, And talk of the grief of those You have wounded.Add iniquity to their iniquity, And let them not come into Your righteousness.Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, And not be written with the righteous.

And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains,and said to the mountains and rocks,“ Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

The nations will rush like the rushing of many waters; But God will rebuke them and they will flee far away, And be chased like the chaff of the mountains before the wind, Like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.

For when they say,“ Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.

The fear of the wicked will come upon him, And the desire of the righteous will be granted.When the whirlwind passes by, the wicked is no more, But the righteous has an everlasting foundation.

But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people.And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.“ And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring;men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

“ But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly.For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth.
