Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them.Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep.Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable.Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. We are careful to be honorable before the Lord, but we also want everyone else to see that we are honorable.

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge,and knowledge with self control, and self control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness,and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.

but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good.Stay away from every kind of evil.

Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.

Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world.

The godly walk with integrity; blessed are their children who follow them.

Teach the older men to exercise self control, to be worthy of respect, and to live wisely. They must have sound faith and be filled with love and patience.

Our people must learn to do good by meeting the urgent needs of others; then they will not be unproductive.

Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity.

Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.

We pray to God that you will not do what is wrong by refusing our correction. I hope we won’t need to demonstrate our authority when we arrive. Do the right thing before we come— even if that makes it look like we have failed to demonstrate our authority.

All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.Three things will last forever— faith, hope, and love— and the greatest of these is love.

In the same way, their wives must be respected and must not slander others. They must exercise self control and be faithful in everything they do.

But for those who are righteous, the way is not steep and rough. You are a God who does what is right, and you smooth out the path ahead of them.

They sent some of their disciples, along with the supporters of Herod, to meet with him.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we know how honest you are. You teach the way of God truthfully. You are impartial and don’t play favorites.

Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.

Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.

For the authorities do not strike fear in people who are doing right, but in those who are doing wrong. Would you like to live without fear of the authorities? Do what is right, and they will honor you.

Let true justice prevail, so you may live and occupy the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

So don’t make judgments about anyone ahead of time— before the Lord returns. For he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. Then God will give to each one whatever praise is due.

We serve God whether people honor us or despise us, whether they slander us or praise us. We are honest, but they call us impostors.

How beloved and gracious were Saul and Jonathan! They were together in life and in death. They were swifter than eagles, stronger than lions.

Now don’t worry about a thing, my daughter. I will do what is necessary, for everyone in town knows you are a virtuous woman.

A worthy wife is a crown for her husband, but a disgraceful woman is like cancer in his bones.

And so, brothers, select seven men who are well respected and are full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility.

So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body.

“ There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!”

Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies.

Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.

This is my second letter to you, dear friends, and in both of them I have tried to stimulate your wholesome thinking and refresh your memory.

Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation.
