Love must be free of hypocrisy. Detest what is evil; cling to what is good.Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor,not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer,contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.Never repay evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all people.If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all people.Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written:“ Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.“ But if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.”Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

for we have regard for what is honorable, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of other people.

for His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.Through these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world on account of lust.Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge,and in your knowledge, self control, and in your self control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness,and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.

but examine everything; hold firmly to that which is good,abstain from every form of evil.

Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe.

Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God on the day of visitation.

Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a good conscience, desiring to conduct ourselves honorably in all things.

but hospitable, loving what is good, self controlled, righteous, holy, disciplined,

( for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth),

Since you have purified your souls in obedience to the truth for a sincere love of the brothers and sisters, fervently love one another from the heart,

Let’s behave properly as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and debauchery, not in strife and jealousy.

Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

A righteous person who walks in his integrity— How blessed are his sons after him.

Older men are to be temperate, dignified, self controlled, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance.

Our people must also learn to engage in good deeds to meet pressing needs, so that they will not be unproductive.

Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity.

Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.

Now we pray to God that you do nothing wrong; not so that we ourselves may appear approved, but that you may do what is right, though we may appear unapproved.

And he must have a good reputation with those outside the church, so that he will not fall into disgrace and the snare of the devil.Deacons likewise must be men of dignity, not insincere, not prone to drink much wine, not greedy for money,

so that you will behave properly toward outsiders and not be in any need.

having a reputation for good works; and if she has brought up children, if she has shown hospitality to strangers, if she has washed the saints’ feet, if she has assisted those in distress, and if she has devoted herself to every good work.

The God of Israel said it; The Rock of Israel spoke to me:‘ He who rules over mankind righteously, Who rules in the fear of God,

If I speak with the tongues of mankind and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.If I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.And if I give away all my possessions to charity, and if I surrender my body so that I may glory, but do not have love, it does me no good.Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant.It does not act disgracefully, it does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong suffered,it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;it keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away with; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away with.For we know in part and prophesy in part;but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away with.When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully, just as I also have been fully known.But now faith, hope, and love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Women must likewise be dignified, not malicious gossips, but temperate, faithful in all things.

The way of the righteous is smooth; O Upright One, make the path of the righteous level.

And they* sent their disciples to Him, along with the Herodians, saying,“ Teacher, we know that You are truthful and teach the way of God in truth, and do not care what anyone thinks; for You are not partial to anyone.

Give her the product of her hands, And let her works praise her in the gates.

for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.

For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same;

Justice, and only justice, you shall pursue, so that you may live and possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of human hearts; and then praise will come to each person from God.

We have sent along with him the brother whose fame in the things of the gospel has spread through all the churches;

Finally, my brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things again is no trouble for me, and it is a safeguard for you.

But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from people, but from God.

Stand firm therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

to the older women as mothers, and to the younger women as sisters, in all purity.

He must be one who manages his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity

They said,“ Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous and God fearing man well spoken of by the entire nation of the Jews, was divinely directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and hear a message from you.”

who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, eager for good deeds.

A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, But a just weight is His delight.

for Herod was afraid of John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and he had been protecting him. And when he heard him, he was very perplexed; and yet he used to enjoy listening to him.

“ Now a certain Ananias, a man who was devout by the standard of the Law and well spoken of by all the Jews who lived there,

His mouth is full of sweetness. And he is wholly desirable. This is my beloved and this is my friend, You daughters of Jerusalem.”

For I have chosen him, so that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken about him.”

And He said to them,“ You are the ones who justify yourselves in the sight of people, but God knows your hearts; because that which is highly esteemed among people is detestable in the sight of God.

And a man named Joseph, who was a member of the Council, a good and righteous man

And there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking forward to the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

by glory and dishonor, by evil report and good report; regarded as deceivers and yet true;

Saul and Jonathan, beloved and delightful in life, And in their deaths they were not separated; They were swifter than eagles, They were mightier than lions.

So now, my daughter, do not fear. I will do for you whatever you say, for all my people in the city know that you are a woman of excellence.

An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, But she who shames him is like rottenness in his bones.

Instead, brothers and sisters, select from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may put in charge of this task.

Therefore, ridding yourselves of falsehood, speak truth each one of you with his neighbor, because we are parts of one another.

“ Many daughters have done nobly, But you excel them all.”

An excellent wife, who can find her? For her worth is far above jewels.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Beloved, this is now the second letter I am writing to you in which I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of a reminder,

For by it the people of old gained approval.

The one who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who is seeking the glory of the One who sent Him, He is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

How long will you judge unjustly And show partiality to the wicked? Selah

A just balance and scales belong to the Lord; All the weights of the bag are His concern.
