Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only;

And you believers at Philippi know what happened when I left Macedonia. Not one church helped me in the matter of giving and receiving. You were the only one that did. That was in the early days when you first heard the good news.

And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only.

As you know, you Philippians were the only ones who gave me financial help when I first brought you the Good News and then traveled on from Macedonia. No other church did this.

And you Philippians know that in the early days of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving except you alone.

You yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the first preaching of the gospel, after I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving except you alone;

Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only.

因为从第一天直到如今，你们都同心合意兴旺福音。

我剥夺了别的教会，向他们取了报酬来效劳你们。我在你们那里有缺乏的时候，并没有连累你们一个人，因为我所缺乏的，那些从马其顿来的弟兄都补足了。我向来凡事谨慎，将来也必谨慎，总不要连累你们。既有基督的真诚在我里面，在亚该亚一带地方就没有人能阻止我这样自夸。为什么呢？是因我不爱你们吗？上帝知道，我爱你们！我现在所做的，将来还要做，为要断绝那些寻机会之人的机会，不让他们在所夸耀的事上被人认为与我们一样。

我成了愚蠢人，是被你们逼出来的，因为我本该被你们赞许才是。虽然我算不了什么，却没有一件事在那些超级使徒以下。我在你们中间，用百般的忍耐，藉着神迹、奇事、异能显出使徒的凭据来。除了我不曾连累你们这一件事，你们还有什么事不及别的教会呢？这不公平之处，请你们饶恕我吧。如今，我准备第三次到你们那里去。我仍不会连累你们，因为我所求的是你们，不是你们的财物。儿女不该为父母积财，父母该为儿女积财。我也甘心乐意为你们的灵魂费财费力。难道我越爱你们，就越少得你们的爱吗？

二人出了监牢，往吕底亚家里去，见了弟兄们，劝慰他们一番，就离开了。保罗和西拉经过暗妃坡里、亚波罗尼亚，来到帖撒罗尼迦，在那里有犹太人的会堂。保罗照他素常的规矩进去，一连三个安息日，根据圣经与他们辩论，讲解和说明基督必须受害，从死人中复活；又说：“我所传给你们的这位耶稣就是基督。”他们中间有些人听了劝，就跟从保罗和西拉，还有许多虔敬的希腊人，尊贵的妇女也不少。但不信的犹太人心里嫉妒，聚集了些市井流氓，搭伙成群，煽动全城的人闯进耶孙的家，要把保罗和西拉带到民众那里。

神人以利沙的仆人基哈西说：“看哪，我主人不愿从这亚兰人乃缦手里接受他带来的礼物，我指着永生的耶和华起誓，我必跑去追上他，向他拿些东西。”

以利沙说：“我指着所事奉永生的耶和华起誓，我必不接受。”乃缦再三请他收下，他却不肯。
