Howbeit what things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Christ.

But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.

I thought things like that were really something great. But now I consider them to be nothing because of Christ.

But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ.

I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done.

But everything that was a gain to me, I have considered to be a loss because of Christ.

So therefore whosoever he be of you that renounceth not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

For what shall a man be profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and forfeit his life? or what shall a man give in exchange for his life?

The ransom of a man’s life is his riches; But the poor heareth no threatening.

The kingdom of heaven is like unto a treasure hidden in the field; which a man found, and hid; and in his joy he goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is a merchant seeking goodly pearls:and having found one pearl of great price, he went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

We being Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed on Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law: because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

In that day, he that shall be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away: and let him that is in the field likewise not return back.Remember Lot’s wife.Whosoever shall seek to gain his life shall lose it: but whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the Plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.

But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

And as we labored exceedingly with the storm, the next day they began to throw the freight overboard;and the third day they cast out with their own hands the tackling of the ship.

And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, throwing out the wheat into the sea.

though I myself might have confidence even in the flesh: if any other man thinketh to have confidence in the flesh, I yet more:circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;as touching zeal, persecuting the church; as touching the righteousness which is in the law, found blameless.

Yea verily, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but refuse, that I may gain Christ,and be found in him, not having a righteousness of mine own, even that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith:that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed unto his death;

And his lord commended the unrighteous steward because he had done wisely: for the sons of this world are for their own generation wiser than the sons of the light.

And Satan answered Jehovah, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.

Buy the truth, and sell it not; Yea, wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.
