But you have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable multitudes of angels,

while we don’t look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.For we know that if the earthly house of our tent is dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,to an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that doesn’t fade away, reserved in Heaven for you,

because of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the Good News

and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of the day of God, which will cause the burning heavens to be dissolved, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.Therefore, beloved, seeing that you look for these things, be diligent to be found in peace, without defect and blameless in his sight.

But the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

so that you come behind in no gift; waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ;

We are courageous, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.

From now on, the crown of righteousness is stored up for me, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.

For you both had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your possessions, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and an enduring one in the heavens.Therefore don’t throw away your boldness, which has a great reward.

Jesus said to him,“ If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”

and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead: Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath to come.

looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,

so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, without sin, to those who are eagerly waiting for him for salvation.

“ Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal;but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal;for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

and you will be blessed, because they don’t have the resources to repay you. For you will be repaid in the resurrection of the righteous.”

Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.Sell that which you have, and give gifts to the needy. Make for yourselves purses which don’t grow old, a treasure in the heavens that doesn’t fail, where no thief approaches, neither moth destroys.For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

The path of life leads upward for the wise, to keep him from going downward to Sheol.

In that day, this song will be sung in the land of Judah:“ We have a strong city. God appoints salvation for walls and bulwarks.Open the gates, that the righteous nation may enter: the one which keeps faith.

As for me, I shall see your face in righteousness. I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with seeing your form.

You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forever more.

You will guide me with your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.Whom do I have in heaven? There is no one on earth whom I desire besides you.My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

who also said,“ You men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who was received up from you into the sky, will come back in the same way as you saw him going into the sky.”

so that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense to the day of Christ,

and to give relief to you who are afflicted with us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire,punishing those who don’t know God, and to those who don’t obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus,

For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with God’s trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise first,

He carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, as if it were a jasper stone, clear as crystal;having a great and high wall; having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.On the east were three gates; and on the north three gates; and on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them twelve names of the twelve Apostles of the Lamb.He who spoke with me had for a measure a golden reed to measure the city, its gates, and its walls.The city is square, and its length is as great as its width. He measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand twelve stadia. Its length, width, and height are equal.Its wall is one hundred forty- four cubits, by the measure of a man, that is, of an angel.The construction of its wall was jasper. The city was pure gold, like pure glass.The foundations of the city’s wall were adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; and the twelfth, amethyst.The twelve gates were twelve pearls. Each one of the gates was made of one pearl. The street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God, the Almighty, and the Lamb, are its temple.The city has no need for the sun or moon to shine, for the very glory of God illuminated it, and its lamp is the Lamb.The nations will walk in its light. The kings of the earth bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.Its gates will in no way be shut by day( for there will be no night there),and they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it so that they may enter.There will in no way enter into it anything profane, or one who causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, including those who pierced him. All the tribes of the earth will mourn over him. Even so, Amen.

What does it matter? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed. I rejoice in this, yes, and will rejoice.For I know that this will turn out to my salvation, through your prayers and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will in no way be disappointed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”
