耶稣对他说：“手扶着犁向后看的人，不配进神的国。”

所以，既然我们有这许多见证人如同云彩围绕着我们，就该卸下各样重担和紧紧缠累的罪，以坚忍的心奔那摆在我们前头的路程，仰望我们信心的创始成终者耶稣，他因那摆在前面的喜乐，轻看羞辱，忍受了十字架的苦难，如今已坐在神宝座的右边。

这不是说我已经得着了，已经完全了；而是竭力追求，或许可以得着基督耶稣所要我得着的。

你们不知道在运动场上赛跑的，大家都跑，但得奖赏的只有一人？你们也要这样跑，好使你们得着奖赏。凡参加竞赛的，在各方面都要有节制，他们不过是要得会朽坏的冠冕；我们却是要得不会朽坏的冠冕。所以，我奔跑，不像无目标的；我斗拳，不像打空气的。我克制己身，使它完全顺服，免得我传福音给别人，自己反而被淘汰了。

有一件事，我曾求耶和华，我仍要寻求，就是一生一世住在耶和华的殿中，瞻仰他的荣美，在他的殿宇里求问。

不但如此，我已把万事当作是有损的，因我以认识我主基督耶稣为至宝。我为他已经丢弃万事，看作粪土，为要赢得基督，

所以，我们应当离开基督道理的基础，竭力进到成熟的地步；不必再立根基，就如懊悔致死的行为、信靠神、

我并不是因缺乏而说这话，因为我已经学会无论在什么景况都可以知足。我知道怎样处卑贱，也知道怎样处丰富；或饱足或饥饿，或有余或缺乏，任何事情，任何景况，我都得了秘诀。我靠着那加给我力量的，凡事都能做。

我亲爱的，这样看来，你们向来是顺服的，不但我在你们那里，就是我现在不在你们那里的时候更是顺服的，就当恐惧战兢完成你们自己得救的事；

这又何妨呢？或是假意或是真心，无论如何，只要基督被传开了，为此我就欢喜。我还要欢喜，因为我知道，这事藉着你们的祈祷和耶稣基督的灵的帮助，终必使我得到释放。这就是我所切慕、所盼望的：没有一事能使我羞愧；反倒凡事坦然无惧，无论是生是死，总要让基督在我身上照常显大。因为我活着就是基督，死了就有益处。

但是不可少的只有一件。马利亚已经选择了那上好的福分，是没有人能从她夺去的。”

所以，从今以后，我们不再按照人的看法来认识人，纵使我们曾经按照人的看法认识基督，如今却不再这样认识他了。

亲爱的，有一件事你们不可忘记，就是：主看一日如千年，千年如一日。

女子啊，要倾听，要思想，要侧耳而听！不要记念你本族和你父家，

但如今，在这一带再没有可传的地方，而且这许多年来，我迫切想去你们那里，盼望到西班牙去的时候经过，得见你们，先与你们彼此交往，心里稍得满足，然后蒙你们为我送行。但如今我要到耶路撒冷去，供应圣徒的需要。因为马其顿和亚该亚人乐意凑出一些捐款给耶路撒冷圣徒中的穷人。这固然是他们乐意的，其实也算是所欠的债；因为外邦人既然分享了他们灵性上的好处，就当把肉体上的需用供给他们。等我办完了这事，把这笔捐款交付给他们，我就要路过你们那里，到西班牙去。我也知道去你们那里的时候，我将带着基督丰盛的恩典去。
