Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,

耶穌曰：『手既扶犂、又後顧、不堪擔當天主國。』

既有見證如雲、萬目睽睽、監臨左右、吾人尚可不以堅忍之志、奮赴前程、徹除一切障礙、解脫罪孽之羈絆、而致景仰於耶穌乎？耶穌者、乃吾人信德之金聲玉振也。曩者彼為前途不可思議之神樂、

予非自謂已奪得錦標、或已臻無過之境；第予仍朝乾夕惕努力前進、以冀能把握基督、亦如予之夙為基督所把握也。

兄弟獨不見夫競賽之事乎趨者固眾、而奪得錦標者一人而已。故望爾等努力趨前、以求奪得錦標也。今夫賽拳角力之人、靡不聚精會神、勉強克制。彼所求者、乃一易敝之冠耳；況在吾人追求不朽之冠乎？故予之競走、非無目的、予之揮拳、非無對象、予且痛鞭吾身、使之馴伏、蓋恐傳道於人而己遭擯棄也。

求主惟一事。足以慰幽衷。終身居主宅。陶然醉春風。逍遙聖殿裏。瞻仰樂無窮。

以予視之、一切莫非失也；惟認識吾主基督耶穌之為得耳。因此予已犧牲一切、而視之如糟粕、一心惟望贏得基督、

是故吾人亟應以基督聖道之淺近原理為起點、而向前猛進、精益求精、以達純全之域也。

此非予之寒酸語也蓋就予一己言之、實已修得隨遇而安、知足常樂之境。窮約之味、予固知之；寬裕之味、予亦知之；一切境遇、予已窺其堂奧、測其深淺、外物何有於我哉。故溫飽可也、凍餓亦可也；有餘可也、不足亦未始不可也。總之、予恃全能之主、故能應付萬變、遊刃有餘耳。

是故吾親愛之同道乎、爾其戰戰兢兢、力行弗懈、以保爾終。素稔爾等從善如流；當予與爾等偕時固已如此、今予遠在他方、爾等更宜小心翼翼、服膺聖教。

雖然、是亦何傷？無論其心意之誠也偽也、其揄揚基督則一；此吾之所為歡欣鼓舞、而不能自已者也。且予固知因爾等之虔求、並賴耶穌基督之神助、一切境遇、無非玉我於成、俾獲靈救、亦所以償吾心期、終不致有所愧忝。因是平生勇氣、至今未衰。必欲獻吾之身、以弘基督。生可也、死亦可也。自予觀之、生是基督死是福、如是而已矣。

然所需者、一而已矣！瑪麗所選、乃其善者、志之所在、不可奪也。』

是故自今而後、吾人不復以俗眼視人矣；雖亦曾以俗眼視基督、今則不復然矣。

惟以主視之、一日猶如千秋、千秋猶如一日。

赫奕眾女中。有女出天潢。王后佩金飾。亭亭玉座傍。

今在此無復發展餘地、且綦欲一償就爾之夙願、擬於赴西班牙途中、順道訪爾、與爾盡數日之歡、然後由爾歡送、壯我行色。惟目前吾須先赴耶路撒冷一行、以賑濟諸聖徒。蓋馬其頓及亞該亞教友、自告奮勇、慷慨輸將、以助耶路撒冷之窮苦聖徒；其所以自告奮勇、有此豪舉者、蓋由彼視之、實屬義不容辭之事耳。夫異邦人既得與耶路撒冷人同享其靈心之事、彼其以區區物質供之、豈為過乎？一俟此事辦竣、並將捐款交代清楚、即當經爾處、而赴西班牙。吾知屆時、必得滿載基督恩寵而來也。
