耶穌對他說：「手扶著犁又看背後之事的人，不配神的國。」

因此，我們既然有這麼一大群見證人，如同雲彩圍繞著我們，就讓我們脫去各樣的重擔和容易纏累我們的罪，藉著忍耐去跑那擺在我們前面的賽程，仰望信仰的創始者和成終者耶穌。他為了那擺在他前面的喜樂，就輕看羞辱，忍受了十字架，如今坐在神寶座的右邊。

這並不是說我已經得到了，或已經得以完全了，而是說我在竭力追求，或許我真的可以得著；為此我也被基督耶穌得著了。

難道你們不知道，賽場上奔跑的人雖然都在跑，但是得獎的只有一個嗎？你們也應當這樣奔跑，好使你們得著獎賞。每一個參加比賽的人，都要在一切事上自制；不過他們這樣做是為了得到會朽壞的冠冕，而我們是為了得到不會朽壞的冠冕。因此，我奔跑不像沒有目標的；我鬥拳不像打空氣的；然而我不斷克制自己的身體，使它服從我，免得我傳道給別人，自己反而經不起考驗了。

有一件事我求過耶和華，這件事我還要求問，就是在我一生所有的日子裡，可以居住在耶和華的殿中，仰望耶和華的恩慈，在他的聖殿中尋求；

不但如此，我甚至把一切都看做是損失，因為我把認識我主基督耶穌看為是至高無上的。我為基督耶穌損失了一切，而且把一切都看做是糞土，為要贏得基督，

所以，讓我們從基督話語的基本原則出發，被神帶到那成熟的境界；而不用重新打基礎，就如悔改那些致死的行為、對神的信仰、

我這樣說，並不是因為我缺少什麼；事實上，我已經學會了在任何情況下都知足。我知道怎樣處卑賤，也知道怎樣處豐富；在一切事上，在一切情況下，或飽足、或飢餓，或豐富、或缺乏，我都得了祕訣。藉著使我剛強的那一位，我一切都能。

因此，我親愛的各位，既然你們一直是順從的——不僅我在的時候如此，現今我不在的時候更加順從——就當懷著敬畏和戰兢的心，把你們的救恩行出來，

這到底有什麼關係呢？只是在各種方法中，無論是假意還是真心，基督都被傳開了；我為此就歡喜，並且還要歡喜，因為我知道，藉著你們的祈禱和耶穌基督之靈的幫助，事情將為我轉變以致我獲救。我的熱切盼望和期待是：我在任何事上都將不至於蒙羞；而現在也能像往常一樣，無論藉著生，還是藉著死，總要滿有膽量地讓基督在我身上被尊為大。因為對我來說，活著就是基督，死去就有益處。

但是有一件事是需要的，而瑪麗亞選擇了那美好的一份，是不能從她那裡被拿去的。」

所以，從今以後，我們不按人的標準看任何人了。雖然我們曾經按人的標準認識基督，但現在我們不再這樣認識他了。

可是，各位蒙愛的人哪，你們不可忽略這一點：在主看來，一日如千年，千年如一日。

女兒啊，你要聽、要看、要側耳聽——你當忘記你的民和你的父家！
