因此，我们既然有这么一大群见证人，如同云彩围绕着我们，就让我们脱去各样的重担和容易缠累我们的罪，藉着忍耐去跑那摆在我们前面的赛程，仰望信仰的创始者和成终者耶稣。他为了那摆在他前面的喜乐，就轻看羞辱，忍受了十字架，如今坐在神宝座的右边。

这并不是说我已经得到了，或已经得以完全了，而是说我在竭力追求，或许我真的可以得着；为此我也被基督耶稣得着了。

难道你们不知道，赛场上奔跑的人虽然都在跑，但是得奖的只有一个吗？你们也应当这样奔跑，好使你们得着奖赏。每一个参加比赛的人，都要在一切事上自制；不过他们这样做是为了得到会朽坏的冠冕，而我们是为了得到不会朽坏的冠冕。因此，我奔跑不像没有目标的；我斗拳不像打空气的；然而我不断克制自己的身体，使它服从我，免得我传道给别人，自己反而经不起考验了。

有一件事我求过耶和华，这件事我还要求问，就是在我一生所有的日子里，可以居住在耶和华的殿中，仰望耶和华的恩慈，在他的圣殿中寻求；

不但如此，我甚至把一切都看做是损失，因为我把认识我主基督耶稣看为是至高无上的。我为基督耶稣损失了一切，而且把一切都看做是粪土，为要赢得基督，

所以，让我们从基督话语的基本原则出发，被神带到那成熟的境界；而不用重新打基础，就如悔改那些致死的行为、对神的信仰、

我这样说，并不是因为我缺少什么；事实上，我已经学会了在任何情况下都知足。我知道怎样处卑贱，也知道怎样处丰富；在一切事上，在一切情况下，或饱足、或饥饿，或丰富、或缺乏，我都得了秘诀。藉着使我刚强的那一位，我一切都能。

因此，我亲爱的各位，既然你们一直是顺从的——不仅我在的时候如此，现今我不在的时候更加顺从——就当怀着敬畏和战兢的心，把你们的救恩行出来，

这到底有什么关系呢？只是在各种方法中，无论是假意还是真心，基督都被传开了；我为此就欢喜，并且还要欢喜，因为我知道，藉着你们的祈祷和耶稣基督之灵的帮助，事情将为我转变以致我获救。我的热切盼望和期待是：我在任何事上都将不至于蒙羞；而现在也能像往常一样，无论藉着生，还是藉着死，总要满有胆量地让基督在我身上被尊为大。因为对我来说，活着就是基督，死去就有益处。

但是有一件事是需要的，而玛丽亚选择了那美好的一份，是不能从她那里被拿去的。”

所以，从今以后，我们不按人的标准看任何人了。虽然我们曾经按人的标准认识基督，但现在我们不再这样认识他了。

可是，各位蒙爱的人哪，你们不可忽略这一点：在主看来，一日如千年，千年如一日。

女儿啊，你要听、要看、要侧耳听——你当忘记你的民和你的父家！

但如今，这些地区再没有可传的地方了，况且多年来我一直渴望见到你们。就是说，当我去西班牙的时候，我希望能顺路看你们；先与你们相聚，使我稍得满足；然后由你们在那里送我上路。但如今，我要到耶路撒冷去服事圣徒，因为马其顿省和亚该亚省的信徒，乐意与耶路撒冷圣徒中的穷人有一些分享。确实，他们是乐意的，不过这也是他们的责任，因为外邦人如果分享了犹太人属灵的事，也就应该在物质的事上服事犹太人。所以，当我完成了这件事，向他们印证了这事的成果，我就要经过你们那里，往西班牙去。我知道，我到你们那里去的时候，一定带着基督丰盛完美的祝福而去。
