I have not yet received all these things. I have not yet reached my goal. Christ Jesus took hold of me so that I could reach that goal. So I keep pushing myself forward to reach it.

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

But you are a man of God. Run away from all these things. Try hard to do what is right and godly. Have faith, love and gentleness. Hold on to what you believe.Fight the good fight along with all other believers. Take hold of eternal life. You were chosen for it when you openly told others what you believe. Many witnesses heard you.

So you should try very hard to add goodness to your faith. To goodness, add knowledge.To knowledge, add the ability to control yourselves. To the ability to control yourselves, add the strength to keep going. To the strength to keep going, add godliness.To godliness, add kindness for one another. And to kindness for one another, add love.All these things should describe you more and more. They will make you useful and fruitful as you know our Lord Jesus Christ better.

They must turn away from evil and do good. They must look for peace and go after it.The Lord’s eyes look on godly people, and he blesses them. His ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord doesn’t bless those who do evil.”( Psalm 34:12–16)Who is going to hurt you if you really want to do good?

Dear friends, we have these promises from God. So let us make ourselves pure from everything that makes our bodies and spirits impure. Let us be completely holy. We want to honor God.

Lord, you will show that I was right to trust you. Lord, your faithful love continues forever. You have done so much for us, so don’t stop now.

The Lord says,“ Listen to me, you who want to do what is right. Pay attention, you who look to me. Consider the rock you were cut out of. Think about the rock pit you were dug from.

God chose us to belong to Christ before the world was created. He chose us to be holy and without blame in his eyes. He loved us.

Let’s recognize him as the Lord. Let’s keep trying to know him. You can be sure the sun will rise. And you can be just as sure the Lord will appear. He will come to renew us like the winter rains. He will be like the spring rains that water the earth.”

Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Glory belongs to him both now and forever. Amen.

God, you are my God. I seek you with all my heart. With all my strength I thirst for you in this dry desert where there isn’t any water.I have seen you in the sacred tent. There I have seen your power and your glory.Your love is better than life. So I will bring glory to you with my lips.

supply you with everything good. Then you can do what he wants. May he do in us what is pleasing to him. We can do it only with the help of Jesus Christ. Give him glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Only let us live up to what we have already reached.

The path of those who do right is like the sun in the morning. It shines brighter and brighter until the full light of day.

Try your best to live in peace with everyone. Try hard to be holy. Without holiness no one will see the Lord.

Brothers and sisters, I don’t consider that I have taken hold of it yet. But here is the one thing I do. I forget what is behind me. I push hard toward what is ahead of me.I push myself forward toward the goal to win the prize. God has appointed me to win it. The heavenly prize is Christ Jesus himself.

All of us get tripped up in many ways. Suppose someone is never wrong in what they say. Then they are perfect. They are able to keep their whole body under control.

Make sure that no one pays back one wrong act with another. Instead, always try to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.

But when what is complete comes, the things that are not complete will pass away.

But godly people will keep doing what is right. Those who have clean hands will grow stronger.

In this way, they will store up true riches for themselves. It will provide a firm basis for the next life. Then they will take hold of the life that really is life.

I can’t wait to be in the courtyards of the Lord’ s temple. I really want to be there. My whole being cries out for the living God.

She must be well known for the good things she does. That includes bringing up children. It includes inviting guests into her home. It includes washing the feet of the Lord’s people. It includes helping those who are in trouble. A widow should spend her time doing all kinds of good things.

I hold on to you tightly. Your powerful right hand takes good care of me.

On his journey, Saul approached Damascus. Suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.He fell to the ground. He heard a voice speak to him,“ Saul! Saul! Why are you opposing me?”“ Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.“ I am Jesus,” he replied.“ I am the one you are opposing.Now get up and go into the city. There you will be told what you must do.”

I hope I will always stand firm in following your orders.

Brothers and sisters, we should always thank God for you. The Lord loves you. That’s because God chose you as the first to be saved. Salvation comes through the Holy Spirit’s work. He makes people holy. It also comes through believing the truth.

The desires controlled by sin do not want what the Spirit delights in. And the Spirit does not want what the desires controlled by sin delight in. The two are at war with each other. That’s why you are not supposed to do whatever you want.

I’m glad when I am weak but you are strong. I pray that there will be no more problems among you.

You have come to the church of God’s people. God’s first and only Son is over all things. God’s people share in what belongs to his Son. Their names are written in heaven. You have come to God, who is the Judge of all people. You have come to the spirits of godly people who have been made perfect.

He will again judge people in keeping with what is right. All those who have honest hearts will follow the right way.

I don’t do the good things I want to do. I keep on doing the evil things I don’t want to do.I do what I don’t want to do. But I am not really the one who is doing it. It is sin living in me that does it.Here is the law I find working in me. When I want to do good, evil is right there with me.Deep inside me I find joy in God’s law.But I see another law working in me. It fights against the law of my mind. It makes me a prisoner of the law of sin. That law controls me.What a terrible failure I am! Who will save me from this sin that brings death to my body?

He gave all these people so that they might prepare God’s people to serve. Then the body of Christ will be built up.

May your hand be ready to help me, because I have chosen to obey your rules.Lord, I long for you to save me. Your law gives me delight.Let me live so that I can praise you. May your laws keep me going.Like a lost sheep, I’ve gone down the wrong path. Come and look for me, because I haven’t forgotten to obey your commands.

God always gives you all the grace you need. So you will only have to suffer for a little while. Then God himself will build you up again. He will make you strong and steady. And he has chosen you to share in his eternal glory because you belong to Christ.

A deer longs for streams of water. God, I long for you in the same way.

The Lord will make your royal authority spread out from Zion to other lands. He says,“ Rule over your enemies who are all around you.”Your troops will be willing to fight for you on the day of battle. Your young men will be wrapped in holy majesty. They will come to you like the fresh dew that falls early in the morning.

But the Lord said to Ananias,“ Go! I have chosen this man to work for me. He will announce my name to the Gentiles and to their kings. He will also announce my name to the people of Israel.
