So Joseph made ready his chariot and went up to Goshen to meet his father Israel; and he presented himself to him, and fell on his neck and wept on his neck a good while.And Israel said to Joseph,“ Now let me die, since I have seen your face, because you are still alive.”

And I wrote this very thing to you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow over those from whom I ought to have joy, having confidence in you all that my joy is the joy of you all.

But when they told him all the words which Joseph had said to them, and when he saw the carts which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived.Then Israel said,“ It is enough. Joseph my son is still alive. I will go and see him before I die.”

And Israel said to Joseph,“ I had not thought to see your face; but in fact, God has also shown me your offspring!”

sorrowing most of all for the words which he spoke, that they would see his face no more. And they accompanied him to the ship.

since he was longing for you all, and was distressed because you had heard that he was sick.For indeed he was sick almost unto death; but God had mercy on him, and not only on him but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.
