Therefore I am all the more eager to send him, so that when you see him again you can rejoice and I can be free from anxiety.

Therefore I am all the more eager to send him, so that when you see him again you may be glad and I may have less anxiety.

What we have seen and heard we announce to you too, so that you may have fellowship with us( and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ).Thus we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.

Joseph harnessed his chariot and went up to meet his father Israel in Goshen. When he met him, he hugged his neck and wept on his neck for quite some time.Israel said to Joseph,“ Now let me die since I have seen your face and know that you are still alive.”

And I wrote this very thing to you, so that when I came I would not have sadness from those who ought to make me rejoice, since I am confident in you all that my joy would be yours.

But when they related to him everything Joseph had said to them, and when he saw the wagons that Joseph had sent to transport him, their father Jacob’s spirit revived.Then Israel said,“ Enough! My son Joseph is still alive! I will go and see him before I die.”

Israel said to Joseph,“ I never expected to see you again, but now God has allowed me to see your children too.”

especially saddened by what he had said, that they were not going to see him again. Then they accompanied him to the ship.

Indeed, he greatly missed all of you and was distressed because you heard that he had been ill.In fact he became so ill that he nearly died. But God showed mercy to him– and not to him only, but also to me– so that I would not have grief on top of grief.
