每逢想起你流泪的情形，我就渴望见你，好使我的心充满喜乐。

约瑟备好车前去迎接父亲以色列。父子重逢，约瑟抱住父亲哭了很久。以色列对约瑟说：“我现在看到你还活着，就是死也安心了。”

我曾为这事写信给你们，免得我到你们那里时，那些本该使我喜乐的人反而使我忧伤。我也深信你们会以我的喜乐为你们的喜乐。

雅各听了他们转述约瑟的话，又看见约瑟派来接他的车，才回过神来。以色列说：“我信了！我儿约瑟还活着，我要在死之前去见他。”

以色列对约瑟说：“我以为再也见不到你了，上帝竟然还让我见到了你的儿子！”

最使他们伤心的就是他说“你们再也见不到我的面了”。最后，众人送他上了船。

他很想念你们，并且感到不安，因为你们听说了他患病的事。他确实病了，几乎丧命，但上帝怜悯了他，不但怜悯他，也怜悯了我，没让我忧上加忧。
