It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me.

It is right for me to feel this way about all of you. I love you with all my heart. I may be held by chains, or I may be standing up for the truth of the good news. Either way, all of you share in God’s grace together with me.

It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel.

只知道圣灵在各城镇指示我，前面必有监禁和苦难等着我。

我为传福音成了披枷带锁的使者。请你们为我祷告，使我能尽忠职守，放胆传福音。

后者是出于爱心，知道我是上帝派来维护福音的。前者传讲基督是出于个人野心，动机不纯，以为可以增加我在狱中的痛苦。

然而，你们与我共患难，真是太好了。

我为这福音受苦，甚至像犯人一样被囚禁，但上帝的道是囚禁不住的。

我是基督受苦的见证人，将分享以后所显明的荣耀。我以长老的身份劝你们中间做长老的：

你们自己就是我们的推荐信，写在了我们心坎上，众所周知，人人可读。

亲爱的弟兄姊妹，虽然我们这样说，却深信你们的光景比这强，有得救的表现。因为上帝并非不公义，以致忘记你们为祂所做的工作以及你们过去和现在服侍圣徒所表现的爱心。

因此，同蒙天召的圣洁的弟兄姊妹，你们应当仔细思想那位我们公认为特使和大祭司的耶稣。

我觉得应当趁着我还在世的时候提醒你们，激励你们，

所以，你不要羞于为我们的主做见证，也不要以我这为主被囚的人为耻，要靠着上帝的能力和我一同为福音受苦。

凡事能包容，凡事有信心，凡事有盼望，凡事能忍耐。

我们既然已经在基督耶稣里，受不受割礼根本无关紧要，借着爱表现出来的信心才至关重要。

我们常常为你们众人感谢上帝，为你们祷告，在我们的父上帝面前不断地想到你们因信我们主耶稣基督而做的工作、因爱祂而受的劳苦和因祂所赐的盼望而激发的忍耐。上帝所爱的弟兄姊妹，我们知道上帝拣选了你们，因为我们传福音给你们不只是靠言语，也靠上帝的能力、圣灵的同在和充分的确据。你们也知道，我们为了你们的缘故怎样在你们中间行事为人。

你们都是光明之子，白昼之子。我们既不属于黑夜，也不属于黑暗。

我做的一切都是为了福音的缘故，为了要与人分享福音的祝福。

反倒要欢喜，因为你们是与基督一起受苦。这样，你们在祂的荣耀显现时可以和祂一同欢喜快乐。

千夫长上前拿住保罗，命人用两条铁链把他锁起来，问他是什么人、做了什么事。

要为我们祷告，求上帝为我们打开传道的门，好传扬基督的奥秘——我就是为此而被囚禁的。

他们被毒打一顿，又被关进监狱，官长命狱卒严密看守。狱卒接到命令后把他们关进内牢，双脚上了枷锁。半夜，保罗和西拉祷告、唱诗赞美上帝，其他的囚犯都侧耳倾听。

所以，我这为主被囚禁的劝你们，既然蒙了上帝的呼召，就要过与所蒙的呼召相称的生活。

有时候，你们在众目睽睽之下被辱骂，受迫害；有时候，你们和遭受这样苦难的人同舟共济。你们体恤那些坐牢的人，即使你们的家业被抢夺，仍然甘心忍受，因为你们知道自己有更美的、永远长存的家业。
