We always give thanks to God for all of you, making mention of you in our prayers;

For God, whom I serve in my spirit in the preaching of the gospel of His Son, is my witness as to how unceasingly I make mention of you,

For I have had great joy and comfort in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you, brother.

who is a first installment of our inheritance, in regard to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints,do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers;that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,and what is the boundless greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His mightwhich He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and made Him head over all things to the church,which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

For who is our hope, or joy or crown of pride, in the presence of our Lord Jesus at His coming? Or is it not indeed you?For you are our glory and joy.

Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, whom I long to see, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, my beloved.

And this I pray, that your love may overflow still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment,so that you may discover the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and blameless for the day of Christ;having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, for the glory and praise of God.

For even though I am absent in body, I am nevertheless with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your orderly manner and the stability of your faith in Christ.

For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even as I weep, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ,

make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.

I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.

In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
