這是要叫你們的信心被試驗為及格的、比那經火試驗還能銷滅的金子更寶貴得多多的、可以在耶穌基督顯示之時見為蒙受稱讚榮耀和尊重的。你們沒有見過他，卻愛他；現在雖不得看見，卻信靠他而歡樂，有說不出、滿有榮耀的喜樂，因為你們領受了你們信心的結局、就是你們靈魂之得救。

藉着各樣的禱告和祈求、時時刻刻用心靈祈禱；以十二分的恆心專在這事上覺醒着，為眾聖徒祈求，也替我求，使我在開口時、得到適當的話語，可以放膽無懼播知福音的奧祕

正為了這緣故我才打發了提摩太去找你們；在主裏面、他是我親愛的、可信靠的孩子；他必使你們回想起我在基督裏的行徑，就是我在各處各教會中所教訓的。
