我祈禱、欲爾仁愛與諸知識智慧、日以加多、使爾能辨何者為有益、或作使爾能辨是非而為純潔無疵、直至基督之日、賴耶穌基督、得充滿義果、使人歸榮天主、稱頌天主、○

爾有此、且充溢、則識我主耶穌基督而不怠荒、無不結果、

是以我儕自聞之之時、為爾祈禱不已、求主俾爾得諸睿智靈慧、盡知其旨、

我儕以信賴天主大力、得保守以獲末世所將顯之拯救、緣此爾曹歡樂、雖今不免受諸艱之試而暫憂、使爾被試之信、較之經火煉可壞之金更顯寶貴、迨耶穌基督顯現之時、各得讚美、尊貴榮光、爾曹雖未見耶穌而猶愛之、今雖不見而仍信之、則有榮光之大樂、非言所能盡、

爾光亦當如是照於人前、使其見爾之善行、而歸榮於爾在天之父、○

兄弟乎、人自言有信而無行、何益之有、信能救之乎、

爾於異邦人中、當舉動皆善、彼素謗爾為惡、既見爾之善行、則在眷顧之時、歸榮於天主、○

凡我教中人、皆當務善、以供人之所需、免不結果、○

如是、其心之隱微顯露、即俯伏拜天主云、天主誠在爾中、

如是、信而無行、乃自死也

蓋此施濟之事、不但補聖徒之不足、亦使多人感謝天主、彼由此施濟之事得證據、知爾誠服基督之福音、又博施於彼及眾人、而歸榮於天主、且彼因天主賜爾厚恩、即深慕爾、為爾祈禱、

兄弟乎、我更有餘言、凡真實者、凡端莊者、凡公義者、凡清潔者、凡可愛者、凡可稱者、有何德、有何譽、俱當念之、

爾曹為天主名勤勞而施仁愛、素供事聖徒、今仍供事之、天主非不義、必不忘爾之工、

婦歟、爾當順爾夫、如是、倘有不信道之夫、雖無勸勉、亦可緣婦之所行、隨感而歸道、

務當良心無虧、或作無為良心所責使彼謗爾從基督善行、誣爾為惡者、自覺羞愧、
