that I appeal to you for my son Onesimus, who became my son while I was in chains.

I am an old man, and I’m in prison. This is how I make my appeal to you for my son Onesimus. He became a son to me while I was being held in chains.

I appeal to you for my child, Onesimus, whose father I became in my imprisonment.

I appeal to you to show kindness to my child, Onesimus. I became his father in the faith while here in prison.

With Onesimus, a faithful and beloved brother, who is[ one] of you. They shall make known unto you all things which[ are done] here.

For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet[ have ye] not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

Unto Timothy,[ my] own son in the faith: Grace, mercy,[ and] peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

To Titus,[ mine] own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy,[ and] peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.

Let thy servant, I pray thee, turn back again, that I may die in mine own city,[ and be buried] by the grave of my father and of my mother. And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he[ is] in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant!And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father’s sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.

And the king commanded Joab and Abishai and Ittai, saying,[ Deal] gently for my sake with the young man,[ even] with Absalom. And all the people heard when the king gave all the captains charge concerning Absalom.

And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;
