他就要远离清酒浓酒，也不可喝什么清酒浓酒做的醋；不可喝什么葡萄汁，也不可吃鲜葡萄和干葡萄。

他就要远离清酒烈酒，也不可喝任何清酒烈酒做的醋；不可喝任何葡萄汁，也不可吃鲜葡萄和干葡萄。

可是，你們迫使拿細耳人喝酒，禁止先知傳達我的話。

不要醉酒，醉酒會使人放蕩，要被聖靈充滿。

你的胃不好，經常生病，不要只喝水，要稍微喝一點酒。

杜絕所有的惡事。

利慕伊勒啊，君王不可喝酒，不可喝酒，首領不宜喝烈酒，免得喝酒後忘記律例，不為困苦人伸張正義。

他們卻說：「我們不喝酒，因為我們的祖先利甲的兒子約拿達曾吩咐我們和我們的子孫永遠不可喝酒、蓋房、撒種、栽植葡萄或擁有葡萄園，一輩子都要住帳篷，以便在異鄉長久居住。我們遵守他的一切吩咐，我們和我們的妻子兒女從不喝酒，

「你們要小心，不要被宴樂、醉酒和人生的掛慮所拖累，免得那日子像網羅般突然臨到你們，

施洗者約翰來了，禁食禁酒，你們就說他被鬼附身了；人子來了，又吃又喝，你們就說，『看啊，祂是個貪吃好酒之徒，與稅吏和罪人爲友！』
