If she has made herself impure and been unfaithful to her husband, this will be the result: When she is made to drink the water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering, it will enter her, her abdomen will swell and her womb will miscarry, and she will become a curse.

Suppose she has made herself“ unclean.” She has not been faithful to her husband. And she has drunk the water that brings a curse. Then it will go into her body. It will cause her to suffer bitterly. It will make her body unable to have children. She will become a curse.

And when he has made her drink the water, then, if she has defiled herself and has broken faith with her husband, the water that brings the curse shall enter into her and cause bitter pain, and her womb shall swell, and her thigh shall fall away, and the woman shall become a curse among her people.

猶大家和以色列家啊，你們從前怎樣在列國中成為可咒詛的，我也必怎樣拯救你們，使你們成為蒙祝福的樣本。你們不要懼怕；你們的手務要剛強。』

我必使猶大餘剩之民、那些硬着頭皮進了埃及地去寄居在那裏的、都滅絕掉；他們必在埃及地仆倒，必因刀劍和饑荒而滅絕；他們從小的到大的都必因刀劍和饑荒而死亡，以致成了令人咒罵、令人驚駭、令人咒詛羞辱的對象。

在巴比倫所有流亡的猶大人都必取用這二人的名字做咒詛人的口頭話來說：『願永恆主使你像西底家和亞哈一樣，就是巴比倫王所焙在火中的』，

你們留下的、只是你們的名、做我選民引為咒詛的方式罷了：主永恆主必殺死你們；必用別的名去稱呼他的僕人。

在永恆主所要領你到的列族之民中、你必成了令人驚骸、令人談笑譏刺的對象。

我必使他們成了地上各邦國所不寒而慄的對象，在我放逐他們到的各地方成了令人羞辱、令人談笑、令人譏刺、咒罵的對象。

我查出一宗比死還苦的事：就是有一種婦人是網羅；她的心是網子，她的手是鎖鍊：那使上帝喜悅的人能躲避她；愛犯罪的人卻被她纏住了。

求你待他們如西西拉、如耶賓、在基順的急流河；讓他們像米甸人在哈律泉旁被消滅，成了田間的糞土。求你使他們的貴族像俄立和西伊伯，使他們的公侯都像西巴和撒慕拿；

但你做丈夫妻子時若有邪行、若被玷污；在你丈夫以外、若有人和你同寢」，

因為我們領受了真理之認識以後，若故意犯罪，就不再有為罪獻的祭保留着了，只好期待着可怕的審判、與神妒的烈火，就是將要吞滅對敵的。一個人干犯了摩西的律法，憑着兩個或三個見證人的話，就必須死，不能得憐憫。那麼，踐踏上帝兒子的人，將自己所賴以成聖的約的血當做俗污，又褻慢施恩的靈，你們想想，他豈不更嚴重地被判為該受刑麼？因為我們知道誰說：『伸冤在我，我必報應』；誰說：『主必定他子民的罪』。

那麼、你們當時得了甚麼果子呢？無非是你們如今所看為羞恥的事罷了：那些事的結局就是死。

對後一種人呢、就做徹頭徹尾死之氣味，對前一種人呢、就做徹頭徹尾活之氣味。要作這些事、誰能夠呢？

尤其是拘留而刑罰那些隨從肉體、行於讓人染污的私慾中、輕看「主尊」的人。嘿，大膽的，任性的，謗讟「眾榮耀」的靈也不戰慄！

其終局卻苦似苦堇，快如雙刃之刀。她的腳下入死地；她的腳步逕向着陰間走；生命之路徑、她不修平；她的轍跡無定向而不自知。如今弟子啊，務要聽我，不可離棄我口中的訓言。要使你所行的路離她遙遠；不可走近她住所的門口；免得將你的尊榮給予別人，將你的歲月付諸殘忍無情者；免得陌生人飽得你的資財，而你勤勞得來的歸入外人之家；終久你的皮肉你的肉身衰殘，你就哀哼着
