保羅對百夫長和士兵說：『這些人若不留在船上，你們就不能得救。』

我們呢、可不是好退縮以至於滅亡的，我們乃是有信心以保全性命的。

巴拿巴到了那裏，看見上帝的恩，就歡喜，又鼓勵眾人以心中的定志緊依附着主。

你們要住在我裏面，我就住在你們裏面。正如枝子、若不連在葡萄樹上，憑着自己是不能結果子的；你們若不住在我裏面，也是這樣。我是葡萄樹，你們是枝子。住在我裏面、而我住在他裏面的、這種人才能多結果子；因為離了我、你們就不能作甚麼。人若不住在我裏面，便像枝子扔在外面、枯乾了；人收集起來，扔在火裏，就燒掉了。
