Why do you discourage the Israelites from crossing over into the land the Lord has given them?

The Lord has given the land of Canaan to the Israelites. So why would you want to keep them from going over into it?

Why will you discourage the heart of the people of Israel from going over into the land that the Lord has given them?

“ Why do you want to discourage the rest of the people of Israel from going across to the land the Lord has given them?

Why are you discouraging the Israelites from crossing into the land the LORD has given them?

And why are you discouraging the sons of Israel from crossing over into the land which the Lord has given them?

Now why will you discourage the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the Lord has given them?

And wherefore discourage ye the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which Jehovah hath given them?

他們上去、到以實各谿谷、去看那地，便使以色列人灰心喪膽、不進去得永恆主所賜給他們的地。

他們向摩西敘說：『我們到了你所打發我們去的那地，果然是流奶與蜜的；這就是它的果子。不過住在那地的人民很壯健、城邑也有堡壘、又極大；我們也看見亞衲人的後代在那裏。有亞瑪力人住在南地；有赫人耶布斯人亞摩利人住在山地；有迦南人住在海邊、和約但河旁。』迦勒在摩西面前叫人民安靜下來、說：『我們立刻上去、取得那地吧！我們足能勝過它。』但是那些和他一同上去的人說：『我們不能上去攻擊那民族，因為他們比我們強壯。』那些探子向以色列人發表他們所窺探之地的惡報告、說：『我們所經過而窺探的地、那是個吞喫居民之地，並且我們所看見的、其中的人民、都是身量高大的人。在那裏我們看見了巨人、亞衲人的子孫、屬於巨人一種的；據我們看、我們正如蚱蜢一樣；據他們看、我們也正如蚱蜢。當下全會眾就放聲嚷起來；那一夜人民都哭了。以色列眾人向摩西、亞倫發怨言；全會眾對他們說：『巴不得我們早死在埃及地！巴不得我們早死在這曠野！永恆主為甚麼把我們領到這地來倒斃在刀劍之下呢？我們的妻子和小孩必被擄掠了。我們回埃及去、不更好麼？』他們就彼此說：『我們立個首領，回埃及去吧！』

於是保羅回答說：『你們幹麼哭、使我心碎呢？為了主耶穌的名、不但被捆綁、就是死在耶路撒冷、我都準備作的。』

我們上哪裏去呢？我們的族弟兄使我們膽戰心驚、說：『那地的人民比我們又大又高；他們的城邑又大又堅固，高得頂天；並且我們還看見亞衲人在那裏呢。』」

他們從何珥山按到蘆葦海的路向往前行，要繞過以東地；人民因了這一條路、心裏着急；
