以色列人擅登山巔、惟摩西與耶和華法匱、仍在營壘、

亞倫子孫為祭司、必吹其角、著為永例、歷世勿替。有敵犯境、爾往攻之、必吹角甚厲、則耶和華爾之上帝垂念爾曹、拯爾於敵。

我所示爾之幕、與器必遵式以造。○

大闢知掃羅蓄謀害己、遂命祭司亞庇亞塔、攜公服至此、

上帝祐我、為我主宰、祭司吹角、其聲宏遠、以色列族歟、勿與爾列祖之上帝耶和華戰、必不得勝。耶羅破暗伏兵於後、環而攻之、於是以色列人在前、伏兵在後。猶大人回顧、見前後受攻、則籲耶和華祭司吹角。猶太人號呼時、上帝擊耶羅破暗、與以色列族眾、為亞庇雅猶大人所敗。

自此而往、張幕於立拿、自立拿遄征、張幕於勒撒、既離勒撒、張幕於基希拉大、

烏利亞曰、法匱及以色列猶大二族、俱居於幕、我主約押、及我主之僕從在野、建營而居處、我豈可歸第飲食、與妻偕寢乎。我指王以誓、亦指爾生命以誓、我必不行此。

曰、以色列族遁於非利士人前、眾被殺戮、爾二子何弗尼、非尼哈亦死、上帝之匱見虜。

當時有居𠼻𡀔［口氷］間萬物主耶和華之約匱在示羅、以利二子、何弗尼非尼哈在側、民遣使詣彼、以攜之至。既至於營、以色列族大聲號呼、地為震動。

祭司七人、以角七、行於法匱前、越至七日、巡城凡七、祭司吹角、其聲清越、爾聞之、使民號呼、城垣傾圮、民得直進。嫩之子約書亞召祭司曰、當舁法匱、爾曹七人、以角七、行於耶和華法匱前、

祭司七人、以角七、行於法匱前吹角、預備以戰者先進、後軍繼至、祭司仍吹其角。至二日巡城一次、後反營壘、如是者六日。越至七日、黎明夙興、循例巡城凡七。

斯時也、上帝之匱在以色列族中、掃羅使亞希亞舁匱而至。

亞倫孫、以利亞撒子、非尼哈見之、遂離會眾、取戟於手、襲以色列人之後、至其寢室、以戟刺其人、並女之腹、為以色列族除其災。時遇災而死者、計二萬四千人。耶和華諭摩西曰、我斷不容以他上帝匹我、以色列族犯此、故我震怒、祭司亞倫孫、以利亞撒子、非尼哈施其熱中、以奉事我、使我不滅其眾、故爾當告之、我將與彼立平康之約、使其子孫恆為祭司、蓋其熱中、以奉事我、為以色列民贖罪。
