From the Israelites’ half, select one out of every fifty, whether people, cattle, donkeys, sheep or other animals. Give them to the Levites, who are responsible for the care of the Lord’s tabernacle.”

Also take something from the half that belongs to the Israelites. Choose one out of every 50 people, cattle, donkeys, sheep or other animals. Give them to the Levites. They are responsible for taking care of my holy tent.”

And from the people of Israel’s half you shall take one drawn out of every fifty, of the people, of the oxen, of the donkeys, and of the flocks, of all the cattle, and give them to the Levites who keep guard over the tabernacle of the Lord.”

要順服引導你們的人，因為他們為你們的靈魂時刻警醒，將來要向上帝交帳。你們要聽從他們，使他們滿心喜樂地盡此職責，不致憂愁，否則對你們毫無益處。

並負責看守會幕和聖所，幫助他們的親族——亞倫的子孫在耶和華的殿裡供職。

對管家的要求是忠心。

利未人亞希雅負責掌管上帝殿裡的庫房和放奉獻之物的庫房。革順族拉但的子孫中做族長的有耶希伊利。耶希伊利的兩個兒子西坦和約珥負責管理耶和華殿裡的庫房。暗蘭族、以斯哈族、希伯崙族、烏歇族也各有其職。摩西的孫子——革舜的兒子細布業是庫房的主管。細布業的親族有以利以謝，以利以謝的兒子是利哈比雅，利哈比雅的兒子是耶篩亞，耶篩亞的兒子是約蘭，約蘭的兒子是細基利，細基利的兒子是示羅密。示羅密及其親族負責管理庫房中的奉獻之物，這些物品是大衛王、眾族長、千夫長、百夫長和將領獻給上帝的聖物。他們把戰爭中擄掠的財物獻出來，以備建造耶和華的殿。

你們難道不知道，在聖殿裡事奉的人可以吃聖殿裡的食物，在祭壇前事奉的人可以分享祭壇上的祭物嗎？同樣，主也曾吩咐：傳福音的人理當藉著福音得到生活的供應。

你們要為自己，也要為教會的群羊警醒，因為聖靈已經任命你們做群羊的監督，牧養上帝的教會。教會是主用自己的血贖回來的。

他們住在殿周圍負責看殿，每天早晨開門。有些利未人負責管理敬拜時用的器皿，每次取出或送回，他們都要統計清楚。還有一些人負責管理聖所的其他器具，以及細麵粉、酒、油、乳香和香料。

只有利未人可在會幕司職，他們要擔負觸犯聖幕的罪責，這是你們世世代代要遵守的條例。利未人在以色列人中不可有產業，因為我已經把以色列人給耶和華的十分之一出產賜給他們作產業。因此，我吩咐他們不可在以色列人中有產業。」耶和華對摩西說：「你把以下條例告訴利未人。「你們從以色列人手中得到我賜給你們作產業的十分之一後，要從中取出十分之一作為舉祭獻給耶和華，這就算作你們獻上了麥場的五穀和榨酒池的酒。這樣，你們要從以色列人給你們的十分之一中，拿出一部分獻給耶和華作舉祭，將這舉祭歸給亞倫祭司。

耶和華對亞倫說：「你和你的兒子及親族要承擔觸犯聖所的罪責；你和你兒子也要承擔觸犯祭司職務的罪責。你和你兒子在安放約櫃的聖幕供職時，要把你們利未支派的親族也一同帶去，讓他們協助你。他們要遵守你的吩咐，看守整個聖幕，但不可接近聖所的器具和祭壇，以免他們和你們都死亡。他們要協助你，負責看守聖幕，辦理聖幕的一切事務。外人不可靠近。你們要看守聖所和祭壇，以免我的憤怒再臨到以色列人。
