“ Our father died in the wilderness. He was not among Korah’s followers, who banded together against the Lord, but he died for his own sin and left no sons.

這些被數的人中，沒有一個是摩西和亞倫祭司先前在西奈曠野所數的以色列人，因為耶和華論到他們說：「他們必死在曠野。」所以，除了耶孚尼的兒子迦勒和嫩的兒子約書亞以外，他們一個也沒有存留。

看哪，所有的生命都是屬我的；父親的生命怎樣屬我，兒子的生命也照樣屬我；然而犯罪的，他必定死。

我－耶和華說過，我必這樣對待這一切聚集對抗我的邪惡會眾。他們必在這曠野中消滅，死在這裏。」

所以，正如罪藉着死掌權；照樣，恩典也藉着義掌權，使人因我們的主耶穌基督得永生。

以利押的兒子是尼母利、大坍、亞比蘭。這大坍、亞比蘭，就是從會中選出來，當可拉一夥的人向耶和華爭鬧的時候，一起向摩西、亞倫爭鬧的；地開了裂口，吞了他們和可拉，可拉一夥的人也一同死亡。當時火吞滅了二百五十個人；他們就成為鑒戒。

利未的曾孫，哥轄的孫子，以斯哈的兒子可拉，連同呂便子孫中以利押的兒子大坍和亞比蘭，與比勒的兒子安，帶了以色列人中的二百五十個領袖，就是有名望、從會眾中選出來的人，在摩西面前一同起來，聚集攻擊摩西、亞倫，說：「你們太過分了！全會眾人人都成為聖，耶和華也在他們中間。你們為甚麼抬高自己，在耶和華的會眾之上呢？」

地開了裂口，把他們和他們的家眷，以及一切屬可拉的人和財物，都吞了下去。他們和一切屬他們的，都活活墜落陰間；地在他們上面又合攏起來，他們就從會眾中滅亡了。在他們四圍的以色列眾人聽見他們的叫聲，就都逃跑，說：「恐怕地也要把我們吞下去了！」有火從耶和華那裏出來，吞滅了那上香的二百五十人。

所以我對你們說，你們會死在自己的罪中，你們若不信我就是那位，就會死在自己的罪中。」

除了因可拉事件死的以外，遭瘟疫死的共有一萬四千七百人。

因為罪的工價乃是死；惟有上帝的恩賜，在我們的主基督耶穌裏，乃是永生。

於是耶穌又對他們說：「我去了，你們會找我，而你們會死在自己的罪中；我所去的地方，你們不能去。」

可拉召集全會眾到會幕門口攻擊摩西和亞倫。這時，耶和華的榮光向全會眾顯現。

希弗的兒子西羅非哈沒有兒子，只有女兒。西羅非哈的女兒的名字是瑪拉、挪阿、曷拉、密迦、得撒。

為此，正如罪是從一人進入世界，死又從罪而來，於是死就臨到所有的人，因為人人都犯了罪。
