摩西對亞倫說：『拿那香爐，把祭壇上取的火盛在那裏頭，又放上香，趕快走到會眾那裏，為他們行除罪禮，因為有神的震怒從永恆主面前發出，疫病已經發作了。』亞倫照摩西所說的拿來，跑到大眾中，哎呀，疫病已經在民間發作了；他就加上香，為人民行除罪禮。他站在死人與活人之間，疫症就被制住了。

就在那裏大衛就為永恆主築了一座祭壇，獻上燔祭和平安祭。這麼，永恆主應允了他們為這地所懇求的，疫症就從以色列人中抑制住了。

大衛對阿珥楠說：『請將這禾場的地址給我，我好在這上頭為永恆主築座祭壇；請按足額的價銀賣給我，使疫症可以被抑制住、不再流行於民間。』

於是摩西對以色列的官長們說：『你們各人要把自己的人、就是那些委身於毘珥的巴力的殺掉。』

以他們的惡行為惹了永恆主發怒，便有疫症暴發於他們中間。那時非尼哈站起來干涉，疫症這才被制住。那就算為他的義行，世世代代到永遠。

『祭司亞倫的孫子以利亞撒的兒子非尼哈使我向以色列人所發的烈怒轉消，因他在他們中間以妒愛熱情愛我，使我因妒愛熱情不把以色列人滅盡。
