The next morning Balak took Balaam up to Bamoth Baal, and from there he could see the outskirts of the Israelite camp.

巴勒對巴蘭說：“請你與我到另一個地方去，從那裡你可以看見他們；不過你不能看見他們全部，只能看見他們邊界的一部分；在那裡你要為我咒詛他們。”

你們要把你們趕走的列國的人事奉神的地方，無論是在高山上，在山岡上，或是在各青翠樹下，都要完全毀壞；

我要滅絕在摩押那些邱壇上獻祭和向他們的神燒香的。”這是耶和華的宣告。

耶羅波安為邱壇、公山羊神，以及他鑄造的牛犢，自己設立了祭司。

那些女子叫以色列人來，一同給她們的神獻祭，以色列人也吃了她們的祭物，跪拜她們的神。以色列人與巴力．毗珥連合，耶和華就向以色列人發怒。

因為有火從希實本發出，有火燄從西宏的城冒出，吞滅了摩押的亞珥，燒毀了亞嫩河的高岡（按照《馬索拉文本》，“燒毀了亞嫩河的高岡”作“亞嫩河的高岡上的業主”﹔現參照《七十士譯本》翻譯）。
