耶和华的使者对巴兰说：“你与这些人同去吧，但是你只要说我吩咐你的话。”于是巴兰与巴勒的领袖一同去了。

The angel of the Lord said to Balaam,“ Go with the men, but speak only what I tell you.” So Balaam went with Balak’s officials.

And the angel of the Lord said to Balaam,“ Go with the men, but speak only the word that I tell you.” So Balaam went on with the princes of Balak.

But the angel of the Lord said to Balaam,“ Go with the men, but you shall speak only the word that I tell you.” So Balaam went along with the representatives of Balak.

Then the Angel of the Lord said to Balaam,“ Go with the men, but only the word that I speak to you, that you shall speak.” So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.

And the angel of Jehovah said unto Balaam, Go with the men; but only the word that I shall speak unto thee, that thou shalt speak. So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.

耶和华说：‘难道你没有听见古时我所安排，往昔所计划的吗？现在我才使它成就，使坚固的城镇荒废，变作乱堆。因此，其中的居民软弱无力，惊惶羞愧，像田间的蔬菜和青绿的草，又像房顶上的草，还没有长起来，就干焦了。你坐下，你出，你入，你向我发烈怒，我都知道。因为你向我发烈怒，又因你的狂傲达到我耳中，我要把钩子放进你的鼻孔，把嚼环放进你的嘴里，使你从你来的路上回去。

因此，我就任凭他们心里刚硬，随着自己的计谋行事。

这不法的人来到，是照着撒但的行动，行各样的异能奇迹和荒诞的事，并且在那些沉沦的人身上，行各样不义的欺诈，因为他们不领受爱真理的心，使他们得救。因此，神就使错谬的思想运行在他们当中，让他们相信虚谎，叫所有不信真理倒喜爱不义的人，都被定罪。

当夜，神来到巴兰那里，对他说：“这些人既然来请你，你就起程与他们同去，但是你只要遵行我吩咐你的事。”巴兰早晨起来，备上驴，与摩押的领袖一同去了。
