耶和華的使者對他說：“你為甚麼這三次打你的驢呢？看哪，是我來敵擋你，因為你走的路在我面前邪僻。

永恆主的使者對他說：『你為甚麼這三次擊打了你的驢呢？看哪，是我出來敵擋你的，因為你對着我逆行了路。

使者曰、三策爾驢何也、爾所行者逆我、故我出以禦爾、

使者曰、三策爾驢何也、爾所行者違逆於我、故我出以禦爾。

主之使者謂之曰、爾三次策驢、何也、爾行此道逆我、故我出以阻爾、

The angel of the Lord asked him,“ Why have you beaten your donkey these three times? I have come here to oppose you because your path is a reckless one before me.

The angel of the Lord spoke to him. He asked him,“ Why have you hit your donkey three times? I have come here to oppose you. What you are doing is foolish.

And the angel of the Lord said to him,“ Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out to oppose you because your way is perverse before me.

“ Why did you beat your donkey those three times?” the angel of the Lord demanded.“ Look, I have come to block your way because you are stubbornly resisting me.

The angel of the LORD asked him,“ Why have you beaten your donkey these three times? Look, I came out to oppose you, because I consider what you are doing to be evil.

Then the angel of the Lord said to him,“ Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out as an adversary, because your way was reckless and contrary to me.

And the Angel of the Lord said to him,“ Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out to stand against you, because your way is perverse before Me.

And the angel of Jehovah said unto him, Wherefore hast thou smitten thine ass these three times? behold, I am come forth for an adversary, because thy way is perverse before me:

The Angel of the Lord asked him,“ Why have you beaten your donkey these three times? Look, I came out to oppose you, because what you are doing is evil in My sight.

And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Wherefore hast thou smitten thine ass these three times? behold, I went out to withstand thee, because[ thy] way is perverse before me:

The angel of the LORD said to him,“ Why have you beaten your donkey these three times? Look, I came out to oppose you because what you are doing is perverse before me.

Yahweh’s angel said to him,“ Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out as an adversary, because your way is perverse before me.

神因為巴蘭去就發怒；耶和華的使者站在路上敵擋他。那時他騎著驢，有兩個僕人同行。

他們滿眼淫色，而且不住地犯罪。他們引誘心志不堅固的人。他們的心習慣了貪婪，是應當受咒詛的族類。他們離棄正路，走入歧途，跟從了比珥的兒子巴蘭的道路。這巴蘭貪愛不義的工價，

他把食物賜給走獸，也賜給啼叫的小烏鴉。

行為完全的，必蒙拯救；行事狡詐的，必立刻跌倒。

何況這尼尼微大城，其中不曉得分辨左右手的有十二萬多人，並且有許多牲畜，我怎能不愛惜呢？”

耶和華開了驢的口，驢就對巴蘭說：“我向你作了甚麼，你竟打我這三次呢？”

“牛在踹穀的時候，不可籠住牠的嘴。

你的公義好像大山，你的公正如同深淵；耶和華啊！人和牲畜，你都庇佑。

行事正直的，敬畏耶和華；行為乖僻的，卻藐視他。

因為你們出埃及的時候，他們沒有拿食物和水在路上迎接你們，又因為他們從兩河之間的亞蘭的毗奪雇了比珥的兒子巴蘭，來攻擊你，咒詛你。

耶和華的使者對巴蘭說：“你與這些人同去吧，但是你只要說我吩咐你的話。”於是巴蘭與巴勒的領袖一同去了。

當夜，神來到巴蘭那裡，對他說：“這些人既然來請你，你就起程與他們同去，但是你只要遵行我吩咐你的事。”

耶和華的使者從荊棘叢裡的火燄中向摩西顯現。摩西觀看，看見荊棘被火燒著，卻沒有燒毀。摩西說：“我要到那邊去，看看這大異象，這荊棘為甚麼燒不掉？”耶和華見摩西要到那邊去觀看，神就從荊棘叢裡呼叫他，說：“摩西，摩西。”摩西說：“我在這裡。”耶和華說：“不可過到這裡來；要把你腳上的鞋脫掉，因為你所站的地方是聖地。”又說：“我是你父親的神、亞伯拉罕的神、以撒的神、雅各的神。”摩西因為怕見神，就把自己的臉蒙住了。

說：“你這充滿各樣詭詐和各樣奸惡的人，魔鬼的兒子，公義的仇敵！你歪曲了主的正路，還不停止嗎？

行為完全的窮人，勝過行事狡詐的財主。

耶和華善待萬有，他的憐憫臨到他一切所造的。

我的民哪！你們要追念，摩押王巴勒圖謀過甚麼，比珥的兒子巴蘭又答應了他甚麼，以及你們從什亭到吉甲所發生的事，好使你們知道耶和華公義的作為。”
