and Moab was terrified because there were so many people. Indeed, Moab was filled with dread because of the Israelites.

以東的族長惶恐，摩押的英雄顫慄，迦南的居民都膽戰心驚。

埃及人聽見泰爾的消息，都感到傷痛。

因為你們離開埃及過紅海的時候，耶和華怎樣使紅海在你們面前成為乾地，你們怎樣對付約旦河東的兩個亞摩利王西宏和噩，怎樣把他們徹底消滅，我們都聽說了。我們聽了這些事，感到心驚膽戰、勇氣盡失。你們的上帝耶和華是天地萬物的上帝。

因此，他們必陷入空前的驚恐。上帝必使攻擊你的仇敵粉身碎骨，你必使他們蒙羞受辱，因為上帝棄絕了他們。

又說：「耶和華確實將那整片土地交給我們了，那裡的居民聽到我們的消息，都嚇得膽戰心驚。」

從今天起，我要使天下萬民在你面前驚恐萬狀，一聽到你的名字就嚇得發抖。』

他們答道：「僕人們這樣做是因為害怕喪命。我們聽說你的上帝耶和華曾經應許祂僕人摩西，要把這整片土地都賜給你們，並要將這裡的居民殺盡。
