And the people spoke against God and against Moses,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness, for there is no bread or water, and we detest this worthless food.”

they spoke against God and against Moses, and said,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread! There is no water! And we detest this miserable food!”

So they spoke against God and against Moses. They said,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt? Do you want us to die here in the desert? We don’t have any bread! We don’t have any water! And we hate this awful food!”

And the people spoke against God and against Moses,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we loathe this worthless food.”

and they began to speak against God and Moses.“ Why have you brought us out of Egypt to die here in the wilderness?” they complained.“ There is nothing to eat here and nothing to drink. And we hate this horrible manna!”

The people spoke against God and Moses:“ Why have you led us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread or water, and we detest this wretched food!”

So the people spoke against God and Moses:“ Why have you brought us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we are disgusted with this miserable food.”

And the people spoke against God and against Moses:“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our soul loathes this worthless bread.”

And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, and there is no water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.

The people spoke against God and Moses:“ Why have you led us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread or water, and we detest this wretched food!”

And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for[ there is] no bread, neither[ is there any] water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.

The people spoke against God and against Moses:“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, there is no water, and our soul loathes this disgusting food!”

But on the next day the whole community of Israelites murmured against Moses and Aaron, saying,“ You have killed the LORD’s people!”

They insulted God, saying,“ Is God really able to give us food in the wilderness?

So the people contended with Moses, and they said,“ Give us water to drink!” Moses said to them,“ Why do you contend with me? Why do you test the LORD?”But the people were very thirsty there for water, and they murmured against Moses and said,“ Why in the world did you bring us up out of Egypt– to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?”

Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of the land that flows with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness? Now do you want to make yourself a prince over us?Moreover, you have not brought us into a land that flows with milk and honey, nor given us an inheritance of fields and vineyards. Do you think you can blind these men? We will not come up.”

The Israelites said to Moses,“ We are bound to die! We perish, we all perish!

Then all the community raised a loud cry, and the people wept that night.And all the Israelites murmured against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt, or if only we had perished in this wilderness!Why has the LORD brought us into this land only to be killed by the sword, that our wives and our children should become plunder? Wouldn’t it be better for us to return to Egypt?”So they said to one another,“ Let’s appoint a leader and return to Egypt.”

The entire company of Israelites murmured against Moses and Aaron in the desert.The Israelites said to them,“ If only we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat, when we ate bread to the full, for you have brought us out into this desert to kill this whole assembly with hunger!”

and they said to Moses,“ Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the desert? What in the world have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?

When the people complained, it displeased the LORD. When the LORD heard it, his anger burned, and so the fire of the LORD burned among them and consumed some of the outer parts of the camp.When the people cried to Moses, he prayed to the LORD, and the fire died out.So he called the name of that place Taberah because there the fire of the LORD burned among them.Now the mixed multitude who were among them craved more desirable foods, and so the Israelites wept again and said,“ If only we had meat to eat!We remember the fish we used to eat freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic.But now we are dried up, and there is nothing at all before us except this manna!”( Now the manna was like coriander seed, and its color like the color of bdellium.And the people went about and gathered it, and ground it with mills or pounded it in mortars; they baked it in pans and made cakes of it. It tasted like fresh olive oil.And when the dew came down on the camp in the night, the manna fell with it.)

The one whose appetite is satisfied loathes honey, but to the hungry mouth every bitter thing is sweet.

The house of Israel called its name“ manna.” It was like coriander seed and was white, and it tasted like wafers with honey.

He rained down manna for them to eat; he gave them the grain of heaven.Man ate the food of the mighty ones. He sent them more than enough to eat.

and in the morning you will see the glory of the LORD, because he has heard your murmurings against the LORD. As for us, what are we, that you should murmur against us?”Moses said,“ You will know this when the LORD gives you meat to eat in the evening and bread in the morning to satisfy you, because the LORD has heard your murmurings that you are murmuring against him. As for us, what are we? Your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD.”

So the people murmured against Moses, saying,“ What can we drink?”

God settles those who have been deserted in their own homes; he frees prisoners and grants them prosperity. But sinful rebels live in the desert.

When the Israelites saw it, they said to one another,“ What is it?” because they did not know what it was. Moses said to them,“ It is the bread that the LORD has given you for food.
