就說壞話攻擊上帝和摩西說：『你們為甚麼把我們從埃及領上來，讓我們死在這曠野呢？這裏沒有食物、沒有水；這淡薄的食物，我們的胃口都憎厭了。』

就怨讟神和摩西说：“你们为什么把我们从埃及领出来、使我们死在旷野呢？这里没有粮，没有水，我们的心厌恶这淡薄的食物。”

百姓向上帝和摩西发怨言，说：“你们为什么把我们从埃及领上来，使我们死在旷野呢？这里没有粮食，没有水，我们厌恶这淡而无味的食物。”

百姓向神和摩西发怨言，说：“你们为什么把我们从埃及领上来，使我们死在旷野呢？这里没有粮食，没有水，我们厌恶这淡而无味的食物。”

埋怨上帝和摩西说：“你们为什么把我们从埃及带出来，叫我们死在旷野呢？这里无粮无水，我们厌恶这难吃的东西！”

就反抗神和摩西，说：“你们为什么把我们从埃及领上来，使我们死在旷野呢？这里没有粮食，又没有水，我们的心厌恶这淡薄的食物。”

怨讟天主與摩西曰、奚導我出伊及、使我死於曠野、在此無糧無水、我心厭此淡薄之食、

they spoke against God and against Moses, and said,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread! There is no water! And we detest this miserable food!”

So they spoke against God and against Moses. They said,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt? Do you want us to die here in the desert? We don’t have any bread! We don’t have any water! And we hate this awful food!”

And the people spoke against God and against Moses,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we loathe this worthless food.”

and they began to speak against God and Moses.“ Why have you brought us out of Egypt to die here in the wilderness?” they complained.“ There is nothing to eat here and nothing to drink. And we hate this horrible manna!”

The people spoke against God and Moses:“ Why have you led us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread or water, and we detest this wretched food!”

So the people spoke against God and Moses:“ Why have you brought us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we are disgusted with this miserable food.”

And the people spoke against God and against Moses:“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our soul loathes this worthless bread.”

And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, and there is no water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.

The people spoke against God and Moses:“ Why have you led us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread or water, and we detest this wretched food!”

And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for[ there is] no bread, neither[ is there any] water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.

And the people spoke against God and against Moses,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness, for there is no bread or water, and we detest this worthless food.”

The people spoke against God and against Moses:“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, there is no water, and our soul loathes this disgusting food!”

第二天、以色列人全會眾都向摩西、亞倫發怨言、說：『是你們二人把永恆主的人民害死了的。』

並且抨擊上帝說：『上帝哪能在曠野擺設筵席呢？

人民就和摩西吵鬧，說：『給我們水喝吧。』摩西對他們說：『你們為甚麼和我吵鬧？為甚麼試探永恆主呢？』人民在那裏渴得要水喝，就向摩西發怨言說：『你這個人為甚麼將我們從埃及領出來，要使我們和兒女跟牲畜都渴死呢？』

你將我們從流奶與蜜之地領上來，要在曠野害死我們，這是小事麼？你還要自立為王子來管理我們麼？況且你也沒有將我們領到流奶與蜜之地，也沒有把田地和葡萄園給我們做產業。難道連我們這些人的眼睛你也要剜出來？我們不上去。』

以色列人對摩西說：『我們活不了啦，我們滅亡啦，都滅亡啦。

當下全會眾就放聲嚷起來；那一夜人民都哭了。以色列眾人向摩西、亞倫發怨言；全會眾對他們說：『巴不得我們早死在埃及地！巴不得我們早死在這曠野！永恆主為甚麼把我們領到這地來倒斃在刀劍之下呢？我們的妻子和小孩必被擄掠了。我們回埃及去、不更好麼？』他們就彼此說：『我們立個首領，回埃及去吧！』

以色列人全會眾在曠野向摩西、亞倫發怨言；以色列人對他們說：『巴不得我們在埃及地早死在永恆主手裏；那時我們坐在肉鍋旁邊，喫餅喫到飽飽地，你們竟將我們領出來、到這曠野，要叫這全體大眾都餓死啊！』

對摩西說：『難道在埃及沒有墳墓，你得把我們帶來，死在曠野麼？你為甚麼這樣待我們，將我們從埃及領出來呢？

人民發了怨言、將苦處訴給永恆主聽；永恆主聽了，就發怒；永恆主的火便在他們中間燒着，燒燬了營盤一些邊地。人民向摩西哀叫，摩西禱告永恆主，火就熄了。那地方便名叫他備拉，因為永恆主的火在他們中間燒着。他們中間烏合之眾大起貪慾之心，以色列人也再哭着說：『我們若有肉喫多好呀！我們還記得在埃及不花錢所喫的魚呢；也記得那黃瓜、西瓜、韮菜、葱、蒜呢。現在我們的胃管都枯乾了；除了這嗎哪以外，在我們眼前、甚麼也沒有啊！』這嗎哪彷彿芫荽子，它的樣子好像珍珠的樣子。人民漫處跑、撿嗎哪，或用磨子磨，或用臼子搗，或在鍋裏煮，或作成烙餅，它的滋味就像油炸的佳殽的滋味。夜間露水降在營旁的時候，嗎哪也隨着降下來。

人飽飫了，連蜂房的蜜也厭惡；人餓了，對甚麼苦物都覺得甜。

這東西、以色列家給起名叫「嗎哪」，就像芫荽子，白色；它的滋味如同攙蜜的薄餅。

降嗎哪像雨做他們的糧食，將天降的穀物賜給他們。人喫天使的食物；上帝送下糧食給他們喫飽。

早晨、你們要看見永恆主的榮耀，因為永恆主聽見了你們向他發的怨言了。我們算甚麼？你們竟向我們發怨言啊？』摩西說：『永恆主晚上必給你們肉喫，早晨必給你們食物喫飽，因為你們向永恆主發的怨言、他都聽見了。我們算甚麼？你們的怨言不是向我們發的，乃是向永恆主發的。』

人民就向摩西發怨言說：『我們喝甚麼？』

上帝使孤獨的有家住，領被囚的出到優游順遂之處；惟獨悖逆的住在乾燥之地。

以色列人看見，不知道是甚麼，就彼此對問說：『這是甚麼？』摩西對他們說：『這是永恆主給你們喫的食物。
