因為人的憤怒不能成就上帝的公義。

你為何不聽從祂的命令？你為何急於掠奪財物，做耶和華視為邪惡的事呢？」

我曾在乾旱的曠野照顧你們，

教導他們遵守我吩咐你們的一切。記住，我必常與你們同在，一直到世界的末了。」

撒母耳到了掃羅那裡後，掃羅說：「願耶和華賜福給你，我已經遵守了耶和華的命令。」撒母耳說：「那麼，我現在聽見的牛羊叫聲是從哪裡來的？」

他就對從猶大來的上帝的僕人說：「耶和華說，你違背了你的上帝耶和華的命令，沒有遵從祂的吩咐，竟然在祂禁止你吃喝的地方吃飯喝水，因此你的屍體必不得安葬在你的祖墳裡。」吃喝完了，老先知為他帶回家的這位先知備驢啟程，這位先知在路上遇到一頭獅子，被咬死了，屍體倒在路上，驢和獅子都站在屍體旁邊。

祂使水從磐石中滾滾流出，如滔滔江河。

亞倫的兒子拿答和亞比戶各拿自己的香爐，點火加香，在耶和華面前獻上凡火。他們這樣做不合耶和華的吩咐。

大衛說：「除了利未人以外，誰也不可抬上帝的約櫃，因為耶和華只揀選他們抬上帝的約櫃，永遠事奉祂。」

先前你們沒有抬約櫃，我們也沒有按規矩求問我們的上帝耶和華，以致祂向我們發怒。」
