他使權貴受羞辱，使他們在荒廢無路的地方飄流。

以色列啊！不要歡喜；不要像外族人一樣快樂，因為你行了邪淫，離開你的神，在各打穀場上喜愛賣淫的賞賜。

他們有些人在曠野、在荒漠飄流，尋不見路往可居住的城巿。

出埃及以後第四十年十一月一日，摩西照著耶和華吩咐他一切關於以色列人的話，都告訴了他們。

耶和華說：“人若是休妻，妻子離開了他，又嫁了別人，前夫怎能與她復合呢？如果復合，那地不是大大玷污了嗎？你曾與許多情人行淫，還想歸向我。”這是耶和華的宣告。“你向光禿的高岡舉目看看，哪裡沒有你的淫跡？你坐在路邊等候情人，像阿拉伯人在曠野埋伏一樣。你以淫亂和邪惡，把這地玷污了。

然而必有義人判她們受淫婦和流人血的婦人所受的刑罰，因為她們是淫婦，她們手中染血。“因為主耶和華這樣說：我必使一大群人上來攻擊她們，使她們驚慌，被人搶掠。這些人必用石頭打她們，用刀劍砍她們，又殺戮她們的兒女，放火燒毀她們的房屋。這樣，我必使淫蕩從這地止息，好叫所有的婦人都受到警戒，不敢照著你們的淫蕩而行。人要把你們行淫的報應歸在你們身上；你們要擔當你們拜偶像的罪；你們就知道我是主耶和華。”

現在你看，自從耶和華對摩西說了這話以後，耶和華照著所應許的，使我活了這四十五年，就是以色列人在曠野行走的時期；現在你看，我今日已經是八十五歲了。

這樣，男人可以免罪，婦人就要擔當自己的罪孽。”

以色列人從埃及地出來以後四十年，五月一日，亞倫祭司照著耶和華的吩咐，上了何珥山，就死在那裡。
