必不得見我所誓於厥祖之地、凡輕視我者、皆不得見之、

緣其欺我、故我所誓、錫厥祖之地、彼不能覯止、

必不得見我所誓賜其列祖之地、凡棄我者、皆不得見之、

not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their ancestors. No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it.

So not even one of them will ever see the land I promised to give to their people of long ago. The person who has not respected me will never see it.

‘从埃及出来、二十岁以上的人都看不到我起誓要赐给亚伯拉罕、以撒和雅各的土地，因为他们没有全心全意地跟从我；

其中没有一个是摩西和祭司亚伦从前在西奈旷野登记的人。

我在旷野曾向他们发誓，不带他们进入我赐给他们的那奶蜜之乡，那世上最佳美的地方，

‘这邪恶的一代没有一人能看见我起誓要赐给他们祖先的佳美之地，只有耶孚尼的儿子迦勒能看见，我必把他所踏之地赐给他和他的后代，因为他全心全意地跟从我。’因为你们的缘故，耶和华也向我发怒，说，‘你也不能进入那片土地，但你的助手——嫩的儿子约书亚可以进入。你要鼓励他，因为他将带领以色列承受那片土地。你们说你们的子女会被掳去，但这些还不知善恶的孩子都将进入那片土地，我要把那里赐给他们，他们将占领那里。而你们要掉头，沿红海的路回到旷野。’“于是，你们对我说，‘我们得罪了耶和华，现在我们愿意遵从我们的上帝耶和华的吩咐，上去作战。’你们便各自拿起兵器，以为可以轻易攻占山区。但耶和华让我告诉你们，‘不要上去作战，以免被敌人击败，因为耶和华不会与你们同在。’我把耶和华的话转告了你们，但你们不听，违背耶和华的命令，擅自前往山区。住在山区的亚摩利人蜂拥出击，打败了你们，从西珥追杀你们，一直追到何珥玛。你们回来在耶和华面前哭泣，但耶和华不理会你们的哭声。

四十年之久惹上帝发怒的是谁呢？不就是那些犯罪作恶并倒毙在旷野的人吗？上帝起誓不准谁进入祂的安息呢？不就是那些不肯信从的人吗？

因此我在怒中起誓说，‘他们绝不可进入我的安息！’”

因此，祂举手起誓要使他们倒毙在旷野，

正如上帝曾说：“我在愤怒中起誓说，‘他们绝不可进入我的安息。’”但我们这些已经信的人能够进入祂的安息。其实造物之工自创世以来就已经完成了，

你使他们的子孙多如天上的星星，你带领他们进入你应许他们祖先的土地。
