惟主坐於地球以上、視其居民如蝗、張天如幬、舒展穹蒼、如可居之幕、

自非利士營中出一挑戰者、名歌利亞、迦特人也、身有六尺、尺原文作肘因古以肘為度一布指之長、首戴銅盔、身衣魚鱗甲、銅重五千舍客勒、約二千五百兩腿有銅護、肩負銅干、銅干或作銅戟其槍之柯、大如織器之軸、槍之鋒刃、鐵重六百舍客勒、約三百兩持盾者行於其前、

又戰於迦特、在彼有拉乏族之人、形體魁偉、手足各六指、共二十四指、其人侮辱侮辱或作詈以色列人、大衛兄示每子約拿單殺之、此四人、皆為迦特拉乏族之人、或作此四人皆為拉乏在迦特所生皆為大衛及其臣僕所殺、

又殺一雄偉之伊及人、伊及人身長五尺、按古尺以肘為度手執槍、槍柯之大、如織器之軸、比拿雅執梃以迎、自伊及人手奪槍、以槍殺之、

非利士人觀視、見大衛則藐視之、以其年少面赤而貌美、
