雖然、居民強悍、城垣廣大、我見亞納子於彼。

以色列族、尚其聽之、今日爾渡約但、有較爾強大之民、其城垣廣大、高可參天、爾將得之。彼為亞納後裔、軀幹雄偉、爾不聞諺云、孰能敵亞納人乎。

我同儕使我喪膽、言斯土之民較我軀幹雄偉、城垣廣大、高可參天、在彼有亞納子、我何能往。

在彼見偉丈夫、亞納子、我自較之、形猶蟿蟲、彼之視我亦若是。

昔以米人居彼、斯民眾多、軀幹雄偉、如亞納人然、或稱之為哩乏音、惟摩押人稱之為以米。

迦勒驅亞納三子示篩、亞希慢、達買、

以上諸邑、俱有高垣、及門與楗、外此更有閭里、其數眾多、

亞納人在以色列地無遺種、惟於迦薩、迦特、亞實突有之。

其軀幹雄偉、如亞納人然、惟耶和華滅之、亞捫人據有其地。

轉而南向、至希伯崙、原其建邑之始、前於埃及人之建鎖安七年、在彼見亞納子亞希慢、示篩、達買。遂至以實各谷、在彼斫下葡萄之枝、枝上其實纍然、二人貫之以杖、負之以肩、又取石榴與無花果、

以希伯崙予迦勒、踐摩西前言、迦勒逐亞納三子。○
