我之列祖於埃及、備受艱辛、爾鑒之、在紅海籲呼、爾聞之、

我列祖在伊及受艱苦、主鑒之、在紅海呼籲、主聽之、

“ You saw the suffering of our ancestors in Egypt; you heard their cry at the Red Sea.

“ You saw how our people of long ago suffered in Egypt. You heard them cry out to you at the Red Sea.

“ And you saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt and heard their cry at the Red Sea,

“ You saw the misery of our ancestors in Egypt, and you heard their cries from beside the Red Sea.

You saw the oppression of our ancestors in Egypt and heard their cry at the Red Sea.

“ You saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, And heard their cry by the Red Sea.

And thou sawest the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heardest their cry by the Red Sea,

法老越走越近的時候，以色列人一舉目，看見埃及人前進着趕來，就極其懼怕；向永恆主哀叫，對摩西說：『難道在埃及沒有墳墓，你得把我們帶來，死在曠野麼？你為甚麼這樣待我們，將我們從埃及領出來呢？我們在埃及豈沒有對你說過：「不要管我們，容我們去服事埃及人」麼？「服事埃及人、比死在曠野還好呀！」』摩西對人民說：『不要懼怕，只管站住，看永恆主今天向你們所要施行的拯救；因為你們今天所看見的埃及人，你們再也永遠看不見了。永恆主必為你們爭戰；你們呢，不要作聲。』

永恆主說：『我的人民在埃及的困苦我實在看見了；他們在督工之下所發的哀叫聲、我也聽見了；他們的苦痛、我是知道的。我下來、是要援救他們脫離埃及人的手，領他們出那地，上美好寬闊之地，流奶與蜜之地，迦南人、赫人、亞摩利人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人的地方。現在你看，以色列人的哀叫聲已經到達了我了；埃及人怎樣壓迫他們、我也看見了。

我那在埃及的人民所受的苦害，我看得清清楚楚了；他們的歎息我聽見了；我下來是要救拔他們；如今你來，我要差遣你往埃及去。」

上帝察看以色列人，知道他們的苦情。

你去聚集以色列的長老，對他們說：「永恆主、你們祖宗的上帝、亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各的上帝、向我顯現，說：『我實在鑒察了你們；你們在埃及怎樣受虐待、我都鑒察了。
