You found his heart faithful to you, and you made a covenant with him to give to his descendants the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Jebusites and Girgashites. You have kept your promise because you are righteous.

You knew that his heart was faithful to you. And you made a covenant with him. You promised to give to his children after him a land of their own. It was the land of the Canaanites, Hittites and Amorites. The Perizzites, Jebusites and Girgashites also lived there. You have kept your promise. That’s because you always do what is right and fair.

亞伯蘭信主、主以此為其義、

當日主與亞伯蘭立約曰、我以斯地賜爾後裔、自伊及河至伯拉大河、即基尼、基尼洗、甲摩尼、赫、比利洗、利乏音、亞摩利、迦南、革迦撒、耶布斯、諸族之地、

我儕避難堅心希望所許之福、既有此永不可易之二事、天主於此事、不能誑言、我儕即大有勉勵、

我將與爾及爾歷代子孫立我約、以為永約、必為爾之天主、亦為爾後裔之天主、必以爾所居之地、即迦南全地、賜爾及爾後裔、永為世業、我亦為其天主、

今我將逝世行世人所必行之路、爾當一心一意、明知主爾天主許福於爾之言、無一或失、皆應於爾、一無所遺、

主顯現於亞伯蘭曰、我將以此地賜爾後裔、亞伯蘭在彼為顯現之主建祭臺、

如是主以全地賜以色列人、即昔所誓賜其列祖之地、以色列人據而居之、主使以色列人四周平康、踐所誓於其祖之言、諸敵中無人能立於其前、無人能立於其前或作無人能抵禦之主以敵悉付其手、主許以色列人賜福之言皆應、無一遺焉、

爾之得入而獲其地、非為爾之善、非為爾之正心、乃為斯民之惡、主爾之天主逐之於爾前、亦為主欲應所誓於爾祖亞伯拉罕以撒雅各之言、

希望無誑之天主、在萬古之先、所許我之永生、

我祖亞伯拉罕獻其子以撒於祭臺、非由行而稱義乎、爾可見信乃助其行、且信由行而得全備也、乃應經所載云、亞伯拉罕信天主、其信則視為其義、彼且稱為天主之友、

永遠記念所立之約、所定之命、萬世不忘、即與亞伯拉罕所立之約、向以撒所發之誓、

既廢之、遂舉大衛為王、譽譽原文作證之曰、我遇耶西子大衛、乃合我心之人、凡事將遵我旨、

我謝我主耶穌基督、助我以力、以我為忠、任我以傳福音之職、我昔為毀謗者、窘逐者、侮慢者、但此因在不信之時、無知而作、故猶蒙矜恤、

乃因主眷愛爾、又因主欲踐向爾列祖所發之誓、故施展大能導爾出、贖爾於為奴之地、救爾於伊及王法老之手、爾當知惟主爾之天主為天主、為誠實可信之天主、愛主守其誡者、主為之踐約施恩、至於千代、或作主必循前約加以仁慈至於千代

亞伯拉罕有信、被試時、獻以撒、此乃蒙應許者、獻其獨子、

雖老仍可興旺、依舊榮茂豐盛、如此足以表明主甚正直、我所倚賴如磐石之主、決無不義、

於是約書亞循主所諭摩西之命、取此全地、賜以色列人為業、循其支派之家族、此後斯地息戰、

矜恤我祖、念其聖約、即與我祖亞伯拉罕所矢之誓、

往見當日為祭司者、謂之曰、我今日敬告主爾之天主、我已至主所誓於我列祖欲賜我之地、

主諭亞伯蘭曰、爾可離故土親族父家、往我將示爾之地、我將使爾成為大族、賜福於爾、使爾名揚、俾爾享厚福、為爾祝福者、我必降之以福、詛爾者我必降之以禍、天下萬族、必因爾獲福、

居東居西之迦南人、與居山地之亞摩利人、赫人、比利洗人、耶布斯人、及居黑門山麓、與米斯巴地之希未人、

天主非人、萬不食言、非亞當之子、決不後悔、其言豈有不成、其許豈有不應、

約但西、居山地、居窪地、居對利巴嫩大海濱之諸王、居對利巴嫩大海濱之諸王或作居大海濱至於利巴嫩諸王即赫人、亞摩利人、迦南人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人諸王、既聞斯事、

我降臨以拯之、脫於伊及人手、導出斯土、至膏腴廣大流乳與蜜之地、即迦南族赫族亞摩利族比利洗族希未族耶布斯族所居之地、

若認己罪、天主乃誠信公義、必赦免我罪、洗滌我一切不義、

主云、爾既行是、不惜爾獨子、我故指己而誓、必賜福於爾、使爾後裔眾多、如天上之星、如海濱之沙、爾後裔必得敵之城邑為業、緣爾遵行我命、天下萬民、將藉爾後裔得福、

今我知爾實畏天主矣、

及至主爾之天主導爾入所往欲得為業之地、於爾前驅逐諸國之民、即赫人、革迦撒人、亞摩利人、迦南人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人、此七族較爾強大者、

主導己民歡樂而出、引選民謳歌前往、賜之以列邦之土地、列民勤勞所得者、俾得而享、

故我言必導爾出伊及、脫於其苦、至流乳與蜜之地、即迦南族赫族亞摩利族比利洗族希未族耶布斯族之地、
