“ You are the Lord God, who chose Abram and brought him out of Ur of the Chaldeans and named him Abraham.

他拉挈其子亞伯蘭、及孫羅得、即哈蘭子、並其媳、即亞伯蘭妻撒勑、咸出迦勒底之耳邑、欲往迦南、至於哈蘭居焉。

今而後、不復名爾為亞伯蘭、乃以亞伯拉罕稱爾、因我命爾為萬民父焉。

約書亞告民曰、以色列族之上帝耶和華云、亙古爾祖亞伯拉罕及拿鶴之父他拉、居大河東、服事他上帝。我攜爾祖亞伯拉罕、自大河東、導入迦南、賜生子以撒、增其苗裔。

耶和華諭亞伯蘭云、爾可出故土、離戚族、遠父家、往我所示之地。我將使爾後成為大邦、錫嘏於爾、畀爾顯名、必蒙綏祉。

曰、諸父兄弟聽之、昔我祖亞伯拉罕、在米所波大米、未居哈蘭時、榮光之上帝見、曰、出故土、離戚族、往我所示之地、乃離迦勒底、居哈蘭、父死後、徙至爾所居之地、

惟耶和華眷愛爾祖、特於天下億兆中、遴選其裔、以為己民、即以今日之事為證。

爾之祖父亞伯拉罕、祖母撒拉、爾祖被我遴選之時、孑然一身、後錫純嘏、寖昌寖熾。

昔我眷顧亞伯拉罕、簡其後裔、以色列族雅各家、為我臣僕。自地極天涯、召之以至、曰、我簡爾為僕、不汝遐棄。

耶和華曰、我乃耶和華、昔攜爾出迦勒底之耳者、蓋欲以此地、賜爾得之。
