They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a leader in order to return to their slavery. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them,

They refused to listen to you. They forgot the miracles you had done among them. So they became stubborn. When they refused to obey you, they appointed a leader for themselves. They wanted to go back to being slaves in Egypt. But you are a God who forgives. You are gracious. You are tender and kind. You are slow to get angry. You are full of love. So you didn’t desert them.

They refused to obey and were not mindful of the wonders that you performed among them, but they stiffened their neck and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt. But you are a God ready to forgive, gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, and did not forsake them.

They refused to obey and did not remember the miracles you had done for them. Instead, they became stubborn and appointed a leader to take them back to their slavery in Egypt. But you are a God of forgiveness, gracious and merciful, slow to become angry, and rich in unfailing love. You did not abandon them,

又忘了上帝所行的事、和他向他們所顯的奇妙作為。

主啊，惟獨你至善，樂意赦免人；凡呼求你的，你就以豐盛的堅愛待他。

但你呢、主啊，你乃是有憐憫有恩惠的上帝；你不輕易發怒，而有豐盛的堅愛和忠信。

他們不追念着他大能的手，不追念他贖救了他們、脫離敵人的日子：他怎樣在埃及施他的神迹，在瑣安田野顯他的奇事，

惡人要離棄自己的路；奸惡之輩要棄掉自己的意圖，回轉來歸永恆主，讓永恆主憐憫他，來歸我們的上帝，因為上帝廣行赦免。因為永恆主發神諭說：我的意念並不是你們的意念，你們的路並不是我的道路。因為天怎樣高過地，我的道路也怎樣高過你們的路，我的意念也怎樣高過你們的意念。

但他們很快就忘了他的作為，不等候着他的意旨，

你們要撕裂的是心，倒不是衣服。』要回歸永恆主你們的上帝；因為他有恩惠有憐憫，他不輕易發怒，而有豐盛的堅愛，他並且能改變心意、不降災禍。

永恆主多次援救了他們，他們卻計謀着悖逆，就因他們自己的罪罰而被降低。然而他聽見了他們的喊求時，就看到他們於急難中。於是他為了他們的緣故就記起他的約，照他堅愛之豐盛而後悔；使他們在一切擄了他們、的人面前蒙憐憫。

然而他、卻有憐憫；他赦除人的罪孽，而不除滅人；並且屢次使怒氣轉消，不激起一切烈怒。

他們竟棄絕了那可喜愛之地，不信上帝的話，在帳棚裏埋怨着，不聽永恆主的聲音。

我們的祖宗在埃及不明白你的奇事，沒有懷念你堅愛之豐盛，反而悖逆了至高者於蘆葦海。

「永恆主不輕易發怒，乃有豐盛的堅愛；他饒赦罪愆、過犯；萬不以有罪為無罪，乃是要察罰罪愆，從父親到兒子、到三四代。」求你照你堅愛之宏大、照你從埃及到如今常饒赦這人民的樣子、赦免這人民的罪愆。』

永恆主為甚麼把我們領到這地來倒斃在刀劍之下呢？我們的妻子和小孩必被擄掠了。我們回埃及去、不更好麼？』他們就彼此說：『我們立個首領，回埃及去吧！』

永恆主有憐憫、有恩惠，不輕易發怒，而有豐盛的堅愛。他不長久責備，也不永遠懷怒。他沒有按我們的罪來待我們，也沒有按我們的罪孽報應我們。天離地有多麼高，他的堅愛向敬畏他、的也多麼宏大。東離西有多麼遠，他使我們的過犯離了我們、也多麼遠。父親怎樣憐憫兒女，永恆主也怎樣憐憫敬畏他、的人。因為他知道我們的體質，他記得我們不過是塵土。論到世人、他的年日如草一樣；他的發旺正如野地的花。經風一吹，便歸無有；其原處再也不認得他。但永恆主的堅愛顯到敬畏他、的人卻是從亙古到永遠；其義氣也施到他們的子子孫孫，施到那守住他的約，記住他的訓令而遵行的人。

況且你也沒有將我們領到流奶與蜜之地，也沒有把田地和葡萄園給我們做產業。難道連我們這些人的眼睛你也要剜出來？我們不上去。』

有哪一位神能比得上你、赦免罪孽、不追究你產業之餘民的過犯呢？他不永遠懷怒，因為他喜悅堅愛。他必再憐憫我們，將我們的罪孽踹在腳下，將我們一切的罪投於海的深處。

但在你那裏有赦免之恩，為要使你受人敬畏。

所以你們雖已知道這些事，並在已有的真理上得到堅固，我還要時常提醒你們。我以為儘我還在這帳幕的時候，以提醒來激發你們、是正當的。因為知道我這帳幕脫卸的時候快到了，正如我們主耶穌基督所指示我的。我也要竭力盡心，使你們在我去世以後還時常追念這些事。

永恆主在他面前經過，宣告說：『永恆主耶和華，有憐憫有恩惠的上帝，不輕易發怒，而有豐盛的堅愛和忠信，為千萬代的人持守堅固之愛，饒赦愆尤、過犯、罪惡；萬不以有罪為無罪，乃是要察罰罪愆，從父親到兒子、以及兒孫，到三四代。』

我必在以色列人中間居住，我必不丟棄我的人民以色列。』

永恆主對摩西說：『這人民藐視我、要到幾時呢？雖有我在他們中間所行的一切神迹、他們還不信我、要到幾時呢？

永恆主有恩惠，有憐憫，不輕易發怒，而有宏大的堅愛。永恆主善待萬物，他的憐憫覆庇着他一切所造的。

我們的祖宗不肯聽從他，倒給推開了，心裏轉向着埃及，

你們還不了解麼？不記得那五千人的五個餅，你們拾取了幾籃子麼？也不記得那四千人的七個餅，你們拾取了幾筐子麼？你們怎麼不了解我不是指着餅對你們說呢？不是的，你們要注意提防法利賽人和撒都該人的酵啊。』

使他恩典之榮耀得稱讚；這恩典是他在那蒙愛者裏面所恩賜我們的。在這蒙愛者裏面、我們藉着他的血得贖放，過犯得赦免，都照上帝恩典之豐富。

摩西說：『你們為甚麼這樣越犯永恆主所吩咐的呢？這是不能成功的。

因為他對摩西說：『我要體恤誰，就體恤誰；我要憐憫誰，就憐憫誰。』

你們要謹慎，不要拒絕那向你們說話的；因為那些拒絕在地上傳神諭的尚且不能逃罪；我們若轉臉不顧那從天上傳神諭的、哪能逃罪呢？

我呼喚，你們既不肯聽，我伸手，既無人理會，

願永恆主我們的上帝與我們同在，像與我們列祖同在一樣，不撇下我們，不丟棄我們；
