In their hunger you gave them bread from heaven and in their thirst you brought them water from the rock; you told them to go in and take possession of the land you had sworn with uplifted hand to give them.

When the people were hungry, you gave them bread from heaven. When they were thirsty, you brought them water out of a rock. You told them to go into the land of Canaan. You told them to take it as their own. It was the land you had promised to give them.

零露初晞、細片如霜、充斥於地。以色列族見而弗識、相語曰、此何物歟。摩西曰、此耶和華予爾之餅。

主使鵪鶉咸集、自天降餅、俾民果腹、應民所求兮、主裂磐而水泉流於曠野、有若溪河兮。

彼尚在曠野、我誓不導之入產乳與蜜之地、斯地列國所羨美。

昔我祖在野食嗎嗱、經云、以天之餅予之食、是也、耶穌曰、我誠告爾、摩西不以天之餅予爾、我父以天之真餅予爾、所謂上帝餅者、乃降自天、以生賜世者也、僉曰、請主常以此餅與我。耶穌曰、我即生之餅、就我者決不饑、信我者永不渴、

當斯時也、使爾饑餒、以嗎嗱飼爾、斯嗎嗱爾祖與爾未識、使爾知人得生、不惟餅、惟耶和華所命。

經歷曠野、其境甚廣、其形可畏、在彼有毒蛇、蠍蟲、既至無水之地、則由堅磐出水、以飲爾曹、居於曠野、以爾祖未識之嗎嗱飼爾、使爾自卑、以試爾心、終有裨益。

以爾聖神訓迪、錫嗎嗱以充其飢、出清泉以止其渴。

雨嗎嗱為食、自天降糈兮、彼食玉食、以果腹兮。

耶和華諭摩西曰、爾執杖、與亞倫集會眾、當其前命磐出水、蓋爾可使水出於磐、遍飲會眾、與諸牲畜。摩西取杖於聖所、遵耶和華命。摩西亞倫集會眾於磐前、曰、爾橫逆之輩、且聽我言、我將取水於磐、以飲爾眾。摩西舉杖、擊磐者二、水即汨汨其來、會眾群畜共飲焉。耶和華諭摩西亞倫曰、汝不信我、不尊我於以色列族前、故不得率斯眾入我所賜之地。其時耶和華明其自尊而以色列族與之爭、故稱斯水曰、米利巴。○

我祖之上帝耶和華、踐其前言、錫土於爾、當前往得之、毋驚毋畏。

我所許之地、爾不得入、惟耶孚尼子迦勒、及嫩之子約書亞、可得而入。

我僕摩西逝世、爾今導民濟約但、至我所賜以色列族之地。昔我與摩西曾有是言、今必踐之、爾足所履之地、必以錫爾、自曠野及利巴嫩、至百辣大河、赫人遍地、爰及大海、日入之處、為爾境界。

拯爾選民、即雅各約瑟之子孫兮。上帝兮、涖彼海隅、波濤洶湧、深淵澎湃兮、雲行雨施、雷發穹蒼、電閃其間兮、狂飆飄颻、霹靂震轟、寰宇輝光、大地搖撼兮、爾乃判海為途、分水為徑、其蹤不得而見兮。爰使摩西亞倫、導爾選民、如引群羊、咸過其地兮。
