那時，他想起古時的日子，就是摩西和他子民的日子：那把他們和他群羊的牧人們從海裡帶上來的，在哪裡呢？那把他的聖靈降在他們當中的，在哪裡呢？那讓自己榮耀的膀臂在摩西右邊作工，在他們面前把水分開，為自己成就永遠之名的，在哪裡呢？那領他們走過深淵的，在哪裡呢？他們像曠野中的馬沒有絆跌；

海水看見了就逃跑，約旦河也倒流。群山跳躍如公羊，岡陵跳躍如羊羔。海水啊，你為什麼逃跑呢？約旦河啊，你為什麼倒流呢？

他斥責紅海，海就乾涸了；他帶他們走過深淵，如同走過旱地。他拯救他們脫離仇恨者的手，從仇敵的手中救贖了他們。水淹沒了他們的敵人，連一個也沒有留下。

因著信，他們走過了紅海，像走過乾地那樣；埃及人試著這樣做，就被吞滅了。

他曾把海變成乾地，眾人曾步行過河——在那裡，讓我們因他而歡喜！

隨後，一位強有力的天使拿起一塊像大磨石那樣的石頭，把它丟進海裡，說：「大巴比倫城也將這樣被猛烈地扔下去，絕不會再找到了！
