自俘囚而歸之會眾、咸構廬、處其中、喜樂不勝、自嫩之子約書亞時、迄於今日、以色列族未嘗行是、

被虜而歸之眾、咸搆廬、坐其中、喜樂無量、自嫩之子約書亞時、迄於今日、以色列族守搆廬節、未有若是之樂、

被擄而歸之眾、構廬以居其中、自嫩之子約書亞時、至於今日、以色列人從未有如此行、於是民大喜樂、

The whole company that had returned from exile built temporary shelters and lived in them. From the days of Joshua son of Nun until that day, the Israelites had not celebrated it like this. And their joy was very great.

All the people who had returned from the land of Babylon made booths. They lived in them during the Feast of Booths. They hadn’t celebrated the feast with so much joy for a long time. In fact, they had never celebrated it like that from the days of Joshua, the son of Nun, until that day. So their joy was very great.

And all the assembly of those who had returned from the captivity made booths and lived in the booths, for from the days of Jeshua the son of Nun to that day the people of Israel had not done so. And there was very great rejoicing.

So everyone who had returned from captivity lived in these shelters during the festival, and they were all filled with great joy! The Israelites had not celebrated like this since the days of Joshua son of Nun.

又遵照摩西的吩咐，在安息日、初一，以及每年在除酵節、七七節、住棚節三個節期，獻每日所當獻上的祭。

並照律法書上所寫的守住棚節，按數照例每日獻所當獻的燔祭。

那時所羅門守節七日，從哈馬口直到埃及溪谷的以色列眾人都與他同在一起，成了一個極其盛大的會。第八日他們舉行嚴肅會，行奉獻壇的禮七日，守節七日。七月二十三日，王差遣百姓回自己的帳棚去；他們為耶和華向大衛和所羅門，以及他百姓以色列所施的恩惠，心裏都歡喜快樂。

道成了肉身，住在我們中間，充充滿滿地有恩典有真理，我們也見過他的榮光，正是父獨一兒子的榮光。

那日，他們在耶和華面前吃喝，大大歡樂。他們再次立大衛的兒子所羅門作王，膏他歸耶和華作君王，又膏撒督作祭司。

自從撒母耳先知的日子以來，在以色列中沒有守過這樣的逾越節，以色列諸王也沒有守過像約西亞、祭司、利未人、所有住猶大和以色列的人，以及耶路撒冷居民所守的逾越節。

在耶路撒冷的以色列人守除酵節七日，大大喜樂。利未人和祭司為耶和華演奏響亮的樂器，天天頌讚耶和華。希西家慰勞所有精通禮儀，事奉耶和華的利未人。於是眾人吃節期的筵席七日，又獻平安祭，並且稱謝耶和華－他們列祖的神。全會眾商議，要再守節七日；於是他們歡歡喜喜地又守節七日。

因着信，他就在所應許之地作客，好像在異鄉，居住在帳棚裏，與蒙同一個應許的以撒和雅各一樣。

若是約書亞已使他們享了安息，後來神就不會再提別的日子了。

這樣，在耶路撒冷大有喜樂，因自從以色列王大衛的兒子所羅門以來，在耶路撒冷從未有過這樣的喜樂。

這些人都是存着信心死的，並沒有得着所應許的，卻從遠處觀望，且歡喜迎接。他們承認自己在地上是客旅，是寄居的。

耶和華的僕人摩西死了以後，耶和華對摩西的助手嫩的兒子約書亞說：
